A lattice crown is technically just a conglomeration of spires. Technically the spire is ~175 feet, not ~110.

Well, let's remember also that it's a little more expensive to build in Los Angeles than other places. Maybe for the price tag of the Wilshire Grand Center (1 Billion) in another city they could build a 90+ floor super tall, but in LA, earthquake and building codes are pricier.

Here's the official website: Wilshire Grand Center

Funny, I couldn't find the height anywhere in the site, maye I missed. But I thought that was interesting.

BTW, this was the tower Trump wanted to build at the Ambassador Hotel site (location where Robert F. Kennedy was murdered)

If this building were 300 meters to the roof I'd be ok with it, I don't mind the spire, but a ~200 foot spire is too much.
Chris Martin the developer of this tower clearly said during a talk in the USC Price school that the spire would be "a 100 foot stainless steel spire".

maybe he was stretching the truth or estimating, the renderings clearly show the building hardly taller than the 860 foot AON center from all angles.

That would make the spire about 200 feet, unless the renderings are wrong which they probably aren't.

Not this one.

Or this one.

With the height factored in. It'll look like this. Photo by Blackcat. Only reason there seems to be a slight difference with the US Bank tower is because it sits on a hill roughly 50 feet higher.

I'll just take AC Martin's official statement on the spire, thanks.

I would imagine that the architect of the project would know what he's talking about.

Compared to some dude on a message board? I think not.

By the way, credit for that picture goes to one of the site administrators from SSP. I don't even have photoshop.

He needs to resurrect that.

I just read that article. So Trump wants to build the world's tallest building in Los Angeles?
