Right, well this isn't the only building that should bet removed from the construction forums. I don't think the Kingdom Tower should be here either.
Granted, there appears to be some actual construction here, but it should be verified that it is in the location where the tower is going to rise. I have seen many situations where a podium rose and was completed, while the main tower section of the site remained vacant for some time.
It would just be a disappointment to put this in the u/c forums, only to find out the tower itself won't start until later.

Comparing with the renders on the first page, the supertall should be right there.

"Bottoming Out Ceremony" scheduled. Today at 11AM.

I like the new Supertalls going up on the West Coast but I want LA to be on Top! lol......I just hope San Frans Transbay Tower doesnt pull a fast one on LA, like the Chrysler Building on the 30s vs. Empire State Building!

It is verified that this is the location. This isn't China where towers pop up without us knowing. This tower's been on the radar for years.

The WGT will be 1100 ft tall, TBT will be 1070 ft tall.

I know the reported heights. But Chrystler secretly added the spire to beat the Empire State building for less than a year before the ESB was completed. Its this whole SF VS LA (Dodgers VS Giants; Nor CAl Vs So CAL; Angels Vs As) thing....

So, the concrete pour at the Wilshire grand is a milestone. The largest in the history of the US. It's a single pour of 22,000 cubic yards. Over 2,200 trucks will be working on it.

Uhm, not to be rude, but the Chrysler building added the spire to win from 40 Wall Street. The ESB was already supposed to be way higher.

The base is in the ground for the stationary crane.

Awesome updates! Will this tower have a second crane? The first one is seem like it is little out of place and unable to reach other part of this construction site.

Wooot? I can't believe my eyes - a supertall from L.A. is in the u/c section. What a great day. Congrats to our fellow Angelenos.
