I am counting 6 parking levels. I thought it was 5. or is it 5 subterranean levels and 1 above ground?

Has anyone done a render of this in the skyline with all the upcoming highrise buildings planned for downtown? Like the hotel around the Staples Center, the Greenland project, etc.? I'm betting LA's downtown will finally look impressive on an international scale with all that going up.

i'll bet when the core reaches the first typical floor level, they will start the structural steel elements and bring the perimeter steel to grade quickly, this is my favorite part as it shows us how the tower will channel the load into the foundation and the ground

First crane jump is arriving pretty quickly. With the rebar reaching the fourth floor. The jump should happend by the end of august and the core should be at the sixth or seventh floor.

It astonishes me how close the deep bathtub is to the 7th Street Metro Center. The huge underground junction of Metro's Red Line, Blue Line and Purple Line Subway and LRT.

It's at that corner of the HSBC building, that building right across with the french looking roof , that's the entrance to go below ground.

Here you can see both rails, one on top of the other in a cross format.

That dark line on the core is where ground level is. Source is a contractor.

Wilshire Grand shots from today by Hunter Kerhart. I didn't realize how big the podium was until after I saw that last shot. Another tower added to the cluster

Tower-crane 4 has started erection Thursday night, as planned. This will be a 3 week process as it is a fairly complicated setup. It is the same type of crane as 1 and 3 (tg1900), but it is referred to as an internal climber. You all will start to see it come out of the core in a couple of days, finish date is the 18th.

Also note the tower-crane 3 will be taken down at some point and be reassembled about 50 feet north of its current position, closer to Wilshire, and top out at about the 50th floor or so.

Such a massive tower, with such small footprint. The same goes for US Bank Tower, I'm always amazed at the small base.
