Core is going well ahead. This should be quite tall soon.

Right across the street you can see one of a few very old original Fire Stations still in use. Just beautiful.

You know that the metro station is going to be gutted and reconstructed so that the blue line can continue all the way to Pasadena. Or at least that's the plan.

Is it really? I hadn't heard anything about that. It was my understanding that Metro Center was "future-proofed" when it was first constructed to avoid any major reconstructions. I'd be interested if you could provide some document(s) where it describes this process.

The Regional Connector extends the Flower Street subway north to 2nd Street, where it will turn east to meet up with the Gold Line in J-Town. That may require some construction work on the existing station, but definitely not a demolition/rebuild.

There will be some new entrances into the station, though. The Macy's Plaza redevelopment across the street will build a portal from the south side of 7th Street. Tthere has also been talk of converting one of the emergency exits on Wilshire into a station portal.

Seems like it would be very easy for Korean Airlines to hook the Wilshire Grand's plaza into the station as well, but I haven't heard anything about them attempting to do so.

The core seems to be rising at an incredibly rapid rate!
Will the core carry on up and top out? Or will it stop part way up for the rest of the structure to catch up before carrying on rising again?

I don't think it will rise all the way to 300 meter at once. That would be very unusual.

Wilshire Grand making progress. First photo proves it'll fit right into the Figueroa cluster. Photos by the talented Hunter Kerhart.

Incredible photo of the Wilshire grand taken just now from a view we don't normally see. I love the three cranes surrounding the core. This will truly be a masterpiece. Photo taken by the incredibly talented Hunter Kerhart.
