I was shocked at how tall it looked from the freeway yesterday. The photos don't nearly do it justice.

I really enjoyed LA and the West Coast thank you - surprised that the downtown looks like nothing has been built since the 1970s but hopefully this project will help update the skyline. Also I get the impression that there's a trendy/hipster vibe thing going on in the downtown - I think that will make the area really exciting. If I had money to buy up a disused warehouse off Broadway, I'd certainly do it. Otherwise, my best discoveries were Guisados tacos and sandwiches from Mendocino Farms - brilliant!
Ah, London. It took me a millisecond. Some day...hopefully, algún día.
Well, come back soon, I'll take you on a food tour.

This is the view from my office window, I took this.

Looks like the staircase.

Facebook Progress Pics of the Week:

We can see the radius walls for the helix ramp.

They need to put a webcam at this photo location

Not much of a gap between the core and the street here

Why are they building the core only? I've never seen this before. Doesn't this make it harder to then build the floors?

Nah, it doesn't make it harder. I've seen buildings built with just the core first before.

A lot of buildings are core first, and the reason being is because it's made of concrete meaning they have to use formwork and worker platforms. They have to rise the core a substantial amount first as the platforms get in the way of steel installation.

This is how 2 and 3 WTC will be.

For 20 Fenchurch Street in London the core was topped out before the floors even started.

Los Angeles has such a strange skyline, in most shots it looks very collected and almost like 1 mass of buildings yet this shot it looks spread out.
