There's a webcam (not video, just pictures every 15 minutes) for the Metropolis project. The Wilshire Grand site can be seen in the background... at least part of it (zoom in).

It stretches almost north-south, slight NE to SW, a peculiar orientation that the Spanish used to found their cities. All cities founded by the Spanish have that orientation, LA, SF, MX, in Central American cities, South America etc.

Not to mention our skyscrapers take up entire blocks, making them stick out a bit. It makes it feel a lot less dense.

And by the way the climbing system for the TG inside the core is the same system that was supposed to be used for the TGs at WTC#3...

That's because the downtown street pattern is strictly right-angular grid and the streets are relatively wide. If you rotate a few degrees the gaps disappear.

I spoke to a construction worker last weekend and he told me 12/8/14 is the next delivery date for perimeter columns.

Cannot see the Wilshire Grand tower under construction from the webcam anymore, a construction crane for the Metropolis project is in the way of the view.

Hey that's not always a bad thing! It's been a long time since LA has had this many cranes at one time. Wilshire Grand, Metropolis, and the already prepping triple tower Fig Central project will all reinvent the skyline.

Will look completely different by 2020, with metropolis adding 4 towers in the foreground along with Wilshire Grand tower above the rest in the back with Fig Central adding another 3 towers right next to LA live.
