Beautiful tower, clean design, what a great addition to LA's skyline. Los Angeles is coming back! Rise, baby!

Will the bar/pool on top be open to the public?

The bar yes. The pool is like most any other hotel pool. For guests only. They are placing steel columns on top now for the outriggers that will connect from floor 28 to 31 of the core to the outer columns.

Good pace of construction. I really do not understand why, after the 7th floor is 11 and after 12 - 15.

Here's the link to the L.A. times article for those interested:

http://graphics.latimes.com/wilshire-grand-earthquakes/

The steel you are seeing at level 28 are 10 huge plate embeds that the gusset plates for BRBs will attach. These look like columns, but had to be set this way due to their massive size and tolerance constraints.

Below is an aerial shot where you can see those embeds being set and a close up f them on the ground before install.

sljrinsd

Steel erection will continue North and West for several levels before South and East catch up. After that, the steel will go up floor by floor uniformly.

This live cam from ABC7 provides a good view of the Wilshire Grand and updates every few minutes. Unfortunately, the camera pans away to the left during the day, but still a good thing to have.

Photos by the incredible Hunter Kerhart. These shots were all taken today. It's getting big and you can see the steel getting ready to rise!
