No question, the top floor in the US Bank Tower is definitely higher. I just wish that building had a restaurant/obs deck/bar, at the very top floor in the crown, where the windows basically have no borders. That level has a lot of floor space, and its such a waste to not use it for that purpose, it has to be a good 970 feet or so above ground. I know there are a few mechanical levels in that region of the building (there is one above this top crown floor I mentioned), but I heard that the top inhabited floor in the US Bank Tower is on 68 or 69 anyway. There is plenty of room up there for them to do this since there easily has to be 2-3 floors actually inside the crown. Even if the office floors, went up to 70 or 71. The US Bank tower has had different floor counts in the past, 72, 73, 75 depending on who you asked. I believe its 75 with all the mechanical floors, but the lobby sign for the elevators show the highest floor currently at 72 right now - I always have wondered about the official numbers on that monster too. That building is not open to the public, and they will throw you out of there if you have no business being there.

At least the WG will have a top floor that anybody could visit, and grab a drink and dinner, although I am sure its not going to be cheap. I am assuming the top levels above 70 are in the sail, and are mechanical levels.

It will be fun to finally have a real spot to visit like this, and spend the evening taking in the views. I think the next highest restaurant currently, is in the Bonaventure, at 31 or 32 stories, and basically a third of the height so this will be a hell of a huge difference. Also, all the hotel rooms will be very high up since the office floors are on the bottom.. I wonder what the hotel room rates are going to end up looking like.
I need to check in with the LA Development forum more often. I just basically answered to my own speculation about US Bank Tower. I had no clue that they were going to move forward with an Obs Deck, and place to eat. Its nice to get clarification as well, on the top office floors. I never knew that the very top floor (the one above the new restaurant) was being used for offices. Nice to see they are doing something like this, and it should be a good deal higher than the WG top floor as well.

If its anything close to the scale that you traced, then its got to be a good 60 stories or so. In this pic, if these structures to the right side are built, then it will really close some big gaps in the skyline; at least from this angle.
The blue highligh tower is the tallest of Metropolis at 647ft tall. The yellow highlighter tower next to it is from developer Onni and will rise up 637ft tall, but it's location is much further back. Metropolis has 3 structures U/C in full speed and the 637ft tower is very likely to happen.

However, the second tallest building UC in Downtown is the tallest of Fig Central, rising 677ft and extending the skyline further to the right. Fig Central is in demolition/prep mode. The Ritz Carlton Tower next to it is 653ft.

All the new towers in the visualization will be 21st century all-glass skyscrapers. That means Wilshire Grand will not be an outcast in the skyline. However, Wilshire Grand will act as the "divider" of the LA skyline where the left side will be all post-modern towers and the right side will be modern, all-glass skyscrapers. Kind of weird to imagine.

Answering your previous question, Wilshire Grand highest occupied floor will be a bit shorter than the roof of Aon Tower. The crown is definitely shorter than USBT. No disappointment though because the WGT will really complement the USBT and still shine in its own way with the crown and spire.

Some cities use their individual subforums more than others. I don't think the NY one is very active at all.
I realize this thread is for supertalls only but since some expressed interest and this just came out today, this is a list of larger projects in downtown LA featuring Kelbeen's nice mock-up.

This will look so good. Breathes fresh air into the old skyline, while still looking like it has been there forever.

I'm sure this stuff has been posted before, but it's freezing cold and snowing in New York this morning and I'm having fun fantasizing about sunny LA.

The picture taken on the inside of the core is interesting. will the elevators travel up the same area that the lift is using now. You will exit onto a floor to the left in the picture and turn left or right exiting the core and into a hallway to you're room?

Looks like the screw/bolt on the top of the sign fell off and it swung upside down.
