I was staying at the Rio main tower in Vegas, on the 38th floor, with 2 more floors of rooms above me up to 40th floor, then 2 floors above that on the top there is a bar and restaurant which is labeled, the 51st floor. Las Vegas is notorious for this. Other cities do this too, but its rather limited compared to Vegas.

New York hotel, if you stay in the Chrysler tower portion, the last floors are in the 70's range, while its really up in the high 30's.. Its all marketing, to help boost the price of the higher, more deluxe suites.

I remembered seeing this at Mandalay Bay too.. top floor is at 60, but its really like 41 or 42 "real" floors.

And for the Stratosphere? You get out of the elevator in one of the mid, to upper pod levels up top, and the elevator says 107-108 when you are really about 800 or so feet up in the air.... It was hilarious watching all the people around me get easily fooled by this. While looking out the window, I was easily able to visualize the US Bank Tower standing next to me, with its upper floors above most of the pod at the Stratosphere tower.

I can see them doing this with the WG, but not on too many floors. I doubt they will do this with more than 7-10 floors total.

Does anybody know if they did this with US Bank Tower, or with AON center?

That doesn't make much sense imo. Here in mainland Europe it's mostly ranked until the top floor has the same number as there are real floors.

The Ernst & Young tower right on the opposite side of the WG, is at 40-42 floors I believe, although those floors all seem to be a pretty standard height almost all the way to the top. Whatever floor that pic was taken from in the City National Bank Tower, I am assuming that it was in the mid to upper 40's, possibly 50th. The Sanwa Bank tower I believe is 55-56 which is right next to the WG as well.

The surrounding buildings will be completely dwarfed by the end of the year!

It's awesome, and Wilshire Grand is a perfect example of how good it can be. Easily among the best skyscrapers going up worldwide, dare I say the best in the US?
