On the right side of the river Vardar were Debar block. This is an example of neighborhood populated by Macedonians expelled from parts of western Macedonia, which were displaced by force and their new residence called by the name of ethnographic area where they came from.

The place where it was located this neighborhood was one of the newer suburbs of Skopje. Before that, in this place there were fields and gardens. The first houses were built in 1920 on the part of brothers Peter and Andrea Mitrovic and Jovan Popovic. They came from Golo Brdo, Debar, in which by 1918 given to neighboring Albania.
