Crossing Edge Lane....

Almost there....

And very slowly into the stop.....

Looking towards Droylsden with Manor Road going off left...

At the stop...

Moving on...

And away she goes towards Droylsden centre....
Loweskid those photos are freaking amazing! Haunting even! I'm well impressed..

Finally got to see the EML pictures - now I have to pick my jaw up from off the floor! Truly amazing footage

I'm back home now - a mere three return trips shall suffice for today - mind you it was nice travelling straight back to Chorlton at the end of it all.

The journey pace is a bit of a mixed bag at present; I guess it depends on whether or not the units are keeping to time. The last tram I took was 3024 to Oldham and back - the northbound run was held at Smedley and Dean Lane, but otherwise rattled on at a fair pace. Even past Freehold it traversed the late Werneth station and temporary alignment much faster than on other runs. The return jouney (1324), however, was a real crawl, and we didn't seem to reach 30mph until the approach to Victoria. Mind you that was compensated by a very brisk run south of Trafford Bar...

...but you get the idea. Hopefully the journey times can shrink a bit, but the important thing for now is to get folk from A to B without breaking down or catching fire. So far, so good.

Will work on the pics

There is something good seeing a tram with 'Oldham Mumps' displayed. Also, when you hear announcements saying 'the next stop is St Peter's Square/Victoria where passengers can change for Oldham Mumps'

Also, just seen 3026 enter Victoria from Smedley Viaduct direction with 'Tram on Test' displayed

Just think how difficult capturing those images would have been before digital cameras! Progress indeed.

Oh no! Have you warned Metrolink that you are coming...

How much are day tickets? I think I'll eat, then spend the rest of the evening traversing the line

Great updates from the ORL and EML I'd booked the day off work specially today to come and join the fun this morning, but ultimately my bed was just too comfortable Thus far, I haven't been on any of the new extensions (MC included) so I've got some serious catching up to do!

In one word...... WOW.

Those Banana's look so good on the streets. Let's hope we don't have to wait a year to ride them out this far.

Off-peak, a day ticket costs £4.50, £1 more than off-peak return between Oldham and Manchester.

Btw, good pics of Freehold

Really enjoyed Aidan's video. Thanks for that. Isn't it great to see the rails back in Oldham? Can't wait to get back up there and have a ride.

And by the way, I'm completely blown away by Loweskid's night photos of the EML! Cracking shots all!

Great video though!
The ride quality isn't bad at all considering that there is a fair bit of jointed track north of Central Tunnel. I reckon that's a bit unfair.

It's not that they are being cautious, it's because they have to pull themselves back to stop being so early.... or they'l have to wait at Monsall for 10 mins!!

I'l give it 3 weeks before they drop 1 tram off the route and speed it up a bit. I think it might be so that they can put a few drivers on there that havn't been passed out on the line yet.

Fwiw , under the stickers Trams to Oldham Mumps on the platforms are hiding Trams to Rochdale (nothing about train station or town centre).

Just wait for the first instance of a driver putting an incorrect route code into the VRS at victoria and then taking the wrong route from Signal 46, lol... It'll happen... Sooner or later

Anyway, congratulations and thanks are due to the hard-working people who have grafted many night (and day) shifts to make this happen, despite thw lack of a working TMS system.
High-Five to you all!
