Seriously again? And for almost a year? :O ...I don't think they've got enough reservations or passengers for this route so far and therefore, have been forced to delay it already once. Plus EK got just 10 B777-200LRs in its fleet and at least 2 of them are utilized for the Auckland route daily. The other 8 are probably used for US/South American destinations and so could be that they haven't got enough or the right aircraft to operate the Panama route for the time being..

B77L are used right now for daily services to SEA, MCO, AKL, HND and SEZ. More or less 8 aircrats require those routes plus the new Yinchuan-Zhengzhou route starting in May.
Of course EK can replace the B77L with B77W on those routes (maybe except DXB-AKL) to free up B77L for DXB-PTY or other long-haul routes (LIM, SCL or wherever they might fly to).

i'm sure they will eventually use 787 on this route when they have more 787s.

Does anyone know which planes Etihad flies on its Melbourne and Paris routes? I'm flying to Paris on business class via Abu Dhabi with them later in the year and was just wondering what to expect.

www.seatguru.com is your best friend when trying to find out which aircraft to expect for which route

Or better still, just flightradar or any similar website. It'll show you all the planes that have been used recently on that sector.

Awesome! Thanks for your help guys. I managed to get these return business class Etihad flights to Paris for just over $3,000AUD (they're normally about $12,000) by pkaying around with American Airlines' frequent flyer points system. Just a shame that the new airport in Abu Dhabi won't be open when I'm passing through.

Air France cancels the rest of A380s on their order. This should be a huge boost for EK-EY-QR.
