How likely is it to split Emirates route from Dubai to Buenos Aires via Rio de Janeiro?

B777-200LR would be required

Not likely soon. The B77L fleet is already stretched enough as it is.

Bro please do some research beforehand. I don't think there are any more B777-200LRs on order from any other airlines. EK ordered just 10 aircraft of this model ages ago and they have them all. That was it.

I've just heard that Emirates just withdrawn one of its Boeing 777-300ER, registered A6-EBD. Is that true? If it does, it will be the first of its type to be retired

This is no new news actually. They have started retiring their older 77Ws since last year already. Some of them have gone to Rossiya Airlines.

2014. Here is one, A6-EMD, a year after retirement. Some will be white tailed and scrapped and others will be sold on for further service.

I'm not discussing the type other than Boeing 777-300ER. And the one in your link is obviously not the category I'm looking for

Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the UAE and Bahrain have cut all diplomatic relations with the state of Qatar, including the suspension of all air and sea travel to and from Qatar and denial of overflying rights for Qatar Airways and other Qatari airlines. This over alleged support for regional terrorism by the Qatari government.

https://www.bloomberg.com/politics/a...isis-escalates

This will have severe consequences for Qatar Airways as it cuts a big away from it's local market, they will also have to make significant detours for their flights to Europe and Africa.

For all other airlines in the region it means another conflict to worry about in the already complex and very busy airspace above the Gulf.

Woke up with this breaking news this morning. Oh dear God, where is the world headed honestly

It's funny cuz Saudi finances and supports major terrorists like ISIL but instead they cut ties with Qatar and sees Iran as a rival (when Iran has done almost nothing wrong in the last few decades). Though we have to keep in mind that like everything that happens in the world, someone is behind it. Someone is trying to destabilize the GCC region.

All we can do now is hope and pray for the best possible solution and that this diplomatic row with Qatar is solved asap!

The fact that this diplomatic crisis went swiftly during Holly Ramadhan month truly raising question on me. Why can't they resolve this peacefully?
I wonder if there are any foreign powers who wants this to happen for their benefit? Perhaps some countries who felt that their airline business have been hindered by Qatar Airways or even by any Gulf countries airline?

Qatar Airways is supposedly barred from Egyptian and Saudi airspace too, effective midnight tonight UTC. The ban applies to QR registered a/c. Bloomberg analysis shows a revenue hit of 30% to QR.

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/artic..._medium=social

Quote:
76 daily flights are likely to be grounded, of which 52 are operated by Qatar Airways, after Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Egypt and the United Arab Emirates suspended ties with Qatar, according to data from scheduling firm OAG. Some 30 percent of the carrier’s revenue could be affected, aviation analysts at Frost & Sullivan estimate.

Among Qatar Airways operations set to be shut is a shuttle to Dubai that operates 14 times a day. Plans to bar Qatari jets from entering airspace over the countries that could be even more problematic, inflating expenses by forcing significant diversions and putting the viability of some routes in jeopardy.
additionally

Quote:
Even at Etihad and Emirates—which last year began deploying an Airbus SE A380 superjumbo for some Doha services—as much as 15 percent of sales could be impacted by the measures
QR is looking at transferring their A320 Registered A/C to the EI register as soon as tomorrow to avoid the ban. No word on their wides. They will work overtime in Dublin if that is what is required this week. Flydubai is looking at a similar measure for some of their a/c
