They have a lot of overcapacity at the moment so this shouldn't affect their operations too much. In fact, all the ME3 have a lot of overcapacity not just QR, but QR more so because of the blockade.

For Abu Dhabi these days politics comes first!! Want to see what Dubai and Sharjah will do!!
Apparently the Persian influence in the war in Yemen which is going out of hand for UAE-KSA is getting more and more evident by the day!!

Etihads big problem is that their hub is a kip and their new hub is at least 2 years away from completion.

The UAE is getting way too 'political' lately, which is affecting both EK and EY...

Like I don't see a point from this sudden stop. Both parties should have worked better to find a solution to whatever issue. But I think banning travellers by gender won't look good for EK and EY in many western countries they serve.

With my limited aviation field knowledge, even I know that a hub spoke airline gets profitable when you build a huge network (economy of scale). Looks like the current route planner for EY is a political science graduate with no aviation knowledge!!

Are you mad?! The 747 has also no future just like A380... sorry but that was a really stupid statement to make. Those huge double-decker jets can't compete or survive against Dreamliners and A350s and the future 777

My thoughts were that If Emirates wants more big plane like A380 then they can go for B747-8I because not all airports can handle A380 but it can handle B747-8I so that was my point

747-8I isn't big enough. You'd probably lose a few pax if you use 777-9X instead, but the cost of operating that craft would probably be like half of 747-8I. If they make A350-1100, it may be even more efficient.

That 1100 stretch is a fantasy IMO. Anyway Emirates recently bought the 787-10 in the end so thats a no to 747/A350 both. Innit.
