If Gulf Air make its hub in JXB and do code share with any one of the above mentioned airlines then fortune can be tun around....!

Buenos Aires : EZE+AEP = 16 millions

When there will be flight to Mexico 30 millions pax ? Bogoto 22 millions pax ?
Mexico and Bogota are both high altitude airports and are a longer distance from the Gulf then the current longest non-stop flight from the Gulf region.

It simply impossible for the Gulf carriers to open a non-stop flight since there are no planes that be used on these routes without severe weight penalties. So a stop, preferably in Europe is needed to make these flights economically viable.

There is an Open Skies agreemens between Mexico and the UAE, that makes these kind of flights with a stop in the EU possible. I don't know if that's also the case for Colombia. But as the lack of flights show it means that even with this kind of agreements it's still not a guarantee that the Gulf carriers will actually open a flight.

The recent interest from Emirates to open transatlantic routes from Europe to the Americas is probably the biggest probability for these 2 cities to be connected with the Gulf. We have to wait and see how that develops.

Even for 777-200LR : 17 370 km ?

Dubai-Mexico : 14 344km
Dubai Bogota : 13 600km

Emirates has 10 777-200LR
Etihad ordered 5 777-200LR (777-300LR has 14 690km range and can go there)
Qatar Airways has 9 777-200LR

If a stop in EU in envisaged, Emirates could use Milan.

Etihad to take two A320s

Quote:
International aircraft leasing group Avolon announced on Wednesday it had acquired two A320 aircraft for delivery to Etihad, according to a press release.
The two aircraft are part of a sale and leaseback transaction and has been financed by Abu Dhabi National Leasing, an asset financing and leasing subsidiary of National Bank of Abu Dhabi.
Etihad has reportedly received the first of the two aircraft with the second scheduled for delivery in December.

Gulf Air and Koweit Air are far from those companies.
They are not even interested in lucrative Indian routes.

okay so whats wrong with Qatar Airways site, when you try to search Doha-Montreal flights you can easily find available ones but when you try Doha and any other Canadian destinations there will be an error. so am just wondering do they still codeshare with aircanada or not?

Have anyone ever seen TV program called "Ultimate Airport: Dubai"?

It highlighted the operation of that huge airport, and of course its home airline: Emirates.

http://natgeotv.com/uk/ultimate-airport-dubai

But what really amazed me is the number of Emirates' passengers who misses their connecting flight. How confusing is it the Dubai airport?

Yes we have seen..8 episodes of the 10 are already over and i have seen it.
I think most of it has to do with ppl choosing very short connection times btw their flights i gues.
Thers also lot to walk if ur in A380 gate and have to catch flight from T3.Theres long Q's aswell in the Security check.Plus Duty free..PAX love hanging out there even if short connecting times.
But personally its not as confusing as they show in the series. Only thing PAX shud do is locate their gate first and do their shopping rather than the other way around OR do no shopping and head directly to the gate if the connections are very short.
I do know about how fast the Immigration is at T3....I think it hapens mostly at peak...

Does it mean that a chance of missing the connecting flight in Dubai during peak hour is quite big?

Such TV shows tend to focus more on things that go wrong, therefor you will see more people that are missing a connecting flight then people who are perfect on time. So I wouldn't conclude from a TV show like this that it's a really big problem at Dubai.

The high altitude is the big problem, the thinner air reduces the maximum take-off weight significantly. That either means that they can take less full = lower range or less payload = lower revenue.

Well only if ur connecting time is around 1.5 hours or less you have to rush around and with Duty free in ur mind.. hmm ... Otherwise its quite a breeze to be honest.

DXB is on of the easiest airports to get around in so don't take the National Geographic sensationalism to seriously cause they have to spice up the episodes.

Etihad to fly to Madinah

Quote:
Etihad Airways will launch flights to Madinah in western Saudi Arabia in 2014, the airline stated in a press release on Thursday.
Madinah is the regional capital of Al Madinah and is the second holiest city in Islam after Makkah.
With the addition of the new service starting February 1, 2014, Etihad Airways will offer over 50 weekly flights to four destinations in Saudi Arabia.

Very true. In fact it is much better when compared to badly mismanaged Jakarta airport.

By the way, is there any inter-terminal shuttle train in Dubai, like those in Changi airport?

There's an APM connecting concourse A with B and a new on being built to connect terminal 1 with concourse D.
