Happy to learn that there is a 200m+ skyscraper growing in our italian sister city
We also have one skyscraper of 200m growing.
the race is starting

I have one question, the Piemonte region have the money to build such a building ?
I guess it's a public project ?

Hi vfG!
Hehe, yes the race will start soon! In this month will begin the preparation of the area that will host the skyscraper.

About the cost, the Piemonte Region will find the money to build the skyscraper thanks to the project financing, through the sale of existing offices. As of today, the Piemonte Region has 15 departments, each with its head offices, all in Turin. In order to concentrate all the activities in one headquarter, the Regional Executive Committee has planned the realization of the tower designed by Massimiliano Fuksas. The area will also include residential buildings, shopping centres and underground parking lots. Some money will also be recovered selling these.
The project will renew the former Fiat Avio area, close to Lingotto. The area’s ground level will be destined to public park, for pedestrians only.
The regional investment for the tower alone adds up to 200 million euros.

I hope the answer was clear!

almost right but it's better precise that current offices are rent now for about 13 million € each year. So in about 15 years the expenditure for the new HQ will be regained.

From the today's newspaper 'LA STAMPA' (30/11/2011):
http://www3.lastampa.it/torino/sezio...o/lstp/432491/

The tower that will become the single seat of the Piedmont region will be the highest skyscraper in Italy and "this record will stand for many years," says the president. And Roberto Cota plans to make this record as a "tourist attraction with the construction of an observatory and a direct access to floor number 42 overlooking a unique panorama."

Yesterday started preparatory work on the excavation of the foundation where will be built 41 floors of offices and a rooftop garden. Overall height of 209 meters, "real meters, measured from the attic and not from the antenna as is usual for others skyscrapers ," says the governor thinking about the Intesa Sanpaolo skyscraper building near Porta Susa. Planned expenditure: 208 million.

At this time is "one of the most significant investment by a public authority,". The hope is that "will serve as a driving force for the revival of the construction industry", say the representatives of trade unions, who yesterday signed the Protocol, to ensure "prevention, transparency and security within the yard." One year to dig the foundation, then will start to grow one floor at week until the end of 2014.

but you haven't to highlight the fact that this is the tallest in italy when it is not...otherwise it means you want to do a race, then I am ready to respond appropriately and to give right information in front of a false thing.

regione piemonte, Turin: last floor: 181 m
dritto, Milan: last floor: 202 m

it's the same thing... if you want to discuss about this...

and it's not an antenna, but a spire that it's part of the structure...it's very different

fondiaria tower is the current porta susa tower project (the building land next to the porta susa railway station is still for sale). fondiaria insurance was initially interested in building a new HQ in 2007, but with the financial crisis its balance sheet has worsened.
