Recently,a staff from Sarah Tucker Hr. sec. School told me that a whole classroom of the school near the TVM high road is going to be demolished soon for widening the road! Before starting the construction of the 'Y-Bridge' at Central Prison they seek to make to roads near Palai Bus stand very wide !!!!!!
It is also said that the construction of the Y-Bridge will start as soon as the annual exams for schools are over !!!

செங்கோட்டை:செங்கோட்டை புதூர் டவுன் பஞ்., பகுதியில் 2011-12ம் ஆண்டில் 2 கோடி ரூபாய் செலவில் திட்டப் பணிகள் மேற்கொள்ளப்பட்டிருப்பதாக டவுன் பஞ்.,தலைவி ராதா தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.
இதுகுறித்து அவர் கூறியிருப்பதாவது:-செங்கோட்டை புதூர் டவுன் பஞ்., பகுதியில் நபார்டு திட்டத்தின் கீழ் தவணை வள்ளமடம் கிணறு, செங்கோட்டை இணைப்பு சாலை ரூ.20 லட்சம் செலவிலும், கீழப்புதூர், மேலப்புதூர், மங்கம்மாள் சாலை ரூ.18.30 ஆயிரம் செலவிலும், பூலாங்குடியிருப்பு, திருமலைக்கோயில் இணைப்பு சாலை ரூ.20 லட்சம் செலவிலும் மேற்கொள்ளப்பட்டுள்ளது.

சுற்றுச்சூழல் மற்றும் புதுப்பிக்கப்பட்ட சக்திக்கான வளர்ச்சி திட்டத்தின் கீழ் செங்கோட்டை புதூர் டவுன் பஞ்., 6வது வார்டு நெடுஞ்சி சாலையில் ரூ.20 லட்சம் செலவில் தார்சாலையும், தமிழ்நாடு சாலை கட்டமைப்பு திட்டத்தில் லாலா குடியிருப்பு மெயின்ரோடு முதல் ரயில்வே கேட் வரை ரூ.18 லட்சத்து 25 ஆயிரம் செலவிலும் தார்சாலை அமைக்கப்பட்டு வருகிறது. டவுன் பஞ்.,சின் பொது நிதியிலிருந்து கட்டளை குடியிருப்பு மெயின்ரோடு முதல் பூலாங்குடியிருப்பு வரை தார்சாலைகள் 6 பகுதிகளாக பிரிக்கப்பட்டு ரூ.27 லட்சம் செலவிலும் சாலை அமைக்கப்படுகிறது.
டவுன் பஞ்.,சில் 2011-12ம் ஆண்டில் 2 கோடி ரூபாய் செலவில் முதல்வர் ஜெயலலிதாவின் அனுமதியின்படியும், அமைச்சர் செந்தூர்பாண்டியன் பரிந்துரையின்படி மக்கள் நலத்திட்ட பணிகள் மேற்கொள்ளப்பட்டுள்ளன. இவ்வாறு அவர் தெரிவித்தார்.

Drinking water schemes seeking to serve 44.36 lakh people in eight districts will be implemented at a cost of over 1,500 crore in 2012-13, Minister for Municipal Administration and Rural Development K.P.Munusamy told the Assembly on Monday.

Replying to the debate on the allocation for departments under him, the Minister said the schemes, to be implemented in Cuddalore, Villupuram, Pudukottai, Theni, Sivaganga, Coimbatore, Tirupur and Tirunelveli district, would benefit 8,134 habitations in five Municipal Corporations, 17 town panchayats and 63 panchayat unions.

The projects include the Theni-Allinagaram Municipality drinking water scheme and Thamiraparani combined drinking water scheme to cover 163 rural habitations, including the Keezhapaavoor town panchayat, Papkudi, Kadayam and Keezhapaavoor panchayat union in Tirunelveli district. The total cost of the projects is Rs 1,527.63 crore.

Besides, surveys would be conducted for six combined drinking water schemes in Coimbatore, Tirupur, Salem, Thanjavur, Tiruchi and Dindigul in 2012-13. The Minister said the Chief Minister had cleared the appointment of 69 Assistant Engineers and 73 junior engineers for conducting survey and speed up both the projects.

The Tamil Nadu Housing Board (TNHB) will construct tenements and houses at a total cost of more than Rs.1,500 crore this fiscal, Minister for Housing and Urban Development, R.Vaithilingam, told the Assembly on Tuesday.

Moving demands for grants for his department, he said that 3,662 multi-storeyed tenements would be constructed at a cost of Rs.812 crore at Sholinganallur and 500 houses in Kancheepuram, Thanjavur, Tiruchi, Madurai and Tirunelveli districts at a cost of Rs.43 crore. Besides, on the direction of Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, 2,238 rented dwellings of government employees in 17 locations would be demolished and 4,691 new dwellings with higher floor space index built at a cost of Rs.679 crore. For maintenance of rented accommodation of government employees, a special allocation of Rs.10 crore would be made.

In a bid to improve facilities for government staff and also the public, 400 dwellings would be constructed at an estimate cost of Rs.60 crore at Anna Nagar (west extension) and Thiruvanmiyur where the TNHB had adequate land.

Under the Slum Clearance Board, the Minister said that 2,882 tenements would be constructed at a total cost of about Rs.145 crore in Srirangam, Tiruchi, Vandavasi, Thoothukudi, Ramanathapuram, Orathanadu and Chennai. The Special Grant of the 13th Finance Commission would be utilised for the purpose. As a part of the Rajiv Housing Scheme, a project envisaging construction of 1,404 multi-storeyed tenements in Kakanji Nagar (Athipattu plan area at Ambattur) at a cost of Rs.108 crore would be taken up with the concurrence of the Centre.
