The Mind Museum will be the first world-class science museum in the Philippines. It is a project of the Bonifacio Art Foundation, Inc. (BAFI), and will be built in Bonifacio Global City (BGC), a rising central business district located in Taguig City. It is envisioned to be a venue where visitors will be fascinated with science, by providing an opportunity to learn science in an entertaining and engaging way. The Mind Museum aims to be recognized as a national institution, a learning center for science which contributes to the public understanding of science and in complementing the education of science students and teachers.

I really like the clean and smooth look of THE MIND MUSEUM.
Not like the gaudy one I saw in Valencia.

Manila Bulletin

Bonifacio Art Foundation Inc. (BAFI) said yesterday that its campaign for the country’s first world-class science museum – The Mind Museum – has now resulted in total seed fund of P770 million, moving the ambitious P1-billion project closer to reality.

The Mind Museum will soon rise in the heart of a premier business district, known as the “home of passionate minds” – the Bonifacio Global City in Taguig.

As a key civic institution that is lacking in the Philippines, a science museum is an essential tool for our nation to address the significant gap in its math and science education. Nobel laureate Robert Solow’s economic research described, “ a country’s level of science and technology has a direct correlation with its level of economic growth.”

Believing in the importance of a science learning facility, BAFI and its corporate donors trust that the over 175 interactive exhibits of The Mind Museum will spark that wonder for science in our youth of today, who hopefully will be our Filipino geniuses of tomorrow.

At present, the donors and their sponsored areas are: Ajinomoto Philippines Corp. - Life Gallery; Ayala Foundation - The Ten Most Beautiful Exhibits in Science; Ayala Land, Inc.; Bank of the Philippine Islands - Learning Lab; Del Monte Philippines, Inc. and NutriAsia, Inc., - co-sponsors for Earth Gallery; Family of Mariano K. Tan/ Dolmar Property Ventures, Inc - Lobby/Mariano K. Tan Hall; Fort Bonifacio Development Corp. - museum site; Globe Telecom, Inc., Integrated Microelectronics Inc., and Manila Water - co-sponsors for Universe Gallery; JP Morgan Chase & Co. - Introductory Hall; Lamoiyan Corp. - Hall of Philippine Science; Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corp. - “Here to There” & “How We Live” Nodes of Technology Gallery; RFM Corp. - Atom Gallery Centerpiece; Sony Phils. - Audio-Visual Equipment; St. Luke’s Medical Center - The Human Brain Exhibit; Tan Yan Kee Foundation - The Theater; Timezone - Equipment for the Technology of Play Zone.

The Mind Museum also partners with prestigious companies and organizations to ensure a truly world-class, most modern learning facility. Singapore Science Center, a leading science center with 30 years of experience in operating a museum, is the planning consultant.

i think they have to meet the target budget first before getting this thing built...

but the expected opening date, as i have seen in their website, is 3rd quarter of 2011...

EDIT: here's a location map from their site... the Mind Museum will be located near the proposed Unified Philippine Stock Exchange Building...
