Light a star and help build imaginative minds

MANILA, Philippines – You can now put your name or the name of your family and friends in the stars.

The Mind Museum, the country’s first world-class science museum, allows you to do that via its virtual night sky. For a P1,000 donation you could light a star, or for P15,000 could reach a galaxy.

In appreciation, you will receive an e-certificate, a sponsor badge for your Facebook page, and your name will be in the museum’s Web-based universe for 10 years. For the same period, The Mind Museum will also honor you through a marker in our Universe Gallery when it opens. Your donation will go towards completing the country’s center for the public understanding of science. A P1 billion project of the Bonifacio Art Foundation, Inc., it has embarked on this project from purely private donations.

The Mind Museum will have over 250 interactive exhibits that will dispel the notion that science is cold, boring and unapproachable. Divided into five main galleries, the museum will tell the story of the universe, atom, life, Earth and technology. There will also be an outdoor 800-square- meter Science-in-the-Park where guests will be able to continue their learning in four different themed pockets: Music, Water, Living and Math. It will also have educational facilities and educational programs.

Exhibit highlights to watch out for are the Human Brain exhibit where guests can walk through a giant human brain to understand how it works. Another is Stan, the first T-Rex exhibit in the Philippines. It is a 40-foot-cast of the most complete Tyrannosaurus Rex bones ever unearthed.

Light a star or reach a galaxy and be a part of this landmark project. Your donation will help build imaginative minds with the completion of The Mind Museum this December. For more information, please visit: www.themindmuseum.org

This building is coming along nicely. I didn't expect this building to wear an exoskeleton so it threw me a bit off in the beginning. However, the lack of open space belies the building's Saarinenesque design, something a viewer can only wish for.

They are going to put a metallic facade in it, that's not an exoskeleton... based on the image posted above, on the left side of the structure, they are starting to attach the facade:
