Hill wins £7.3m PM contracts on Qatar towers

10 November, 2008

By Sophie Griffiths

Real Estate Services Group appoints project manager on three major schemes at Lusail and Doha

Hill International has been appointed to provide project management services on three major Qatar projects by the Real Estate Services Group.

The contracts are worth an estimated combined value to Hill of £7.3m.

The £93.9m Lusail Mix 11 project will be a 30-storey, five-star hotel in the Lusail, to include 340 guest rooms, 96 suites and two penthouse floors, with a total area of 73,600m2. Construction is to be completed by February 2012, and the three-year contract is worth around £3.8m to Hill.

The £101.9m Shemoukh Twin Towers in Doha will each be 22 storeys tall, providing a combined space of 107,000m2. Construction is to be completed by February 2011 and Hill's 30-month contract is worth an estimated £1.7m.

The Mash'oor Tower is a 29-storey office tower in the Marina district of Doha, to be completed by April 2010, with Hill's 18-month contract worth around £1.7m.

Raouf S Ghali, president of Hill's international project management group, said he was “honoured” that Hill was selected by Real Estate Services Group.

why there is no super tall towers in the Lusail city.

I heard the max-storey there will be only 40 !!!!!

by the way, there will be more than 100 towers in Lusail, so I think its the time to create a new section for the Lusail towers.

Well, I noticed that Lusail was designed to be adjacent to Doha and it seems that the designeres kept in mind all the current problems that Doha is currently facing and tried to avoid them. So they mainly focused on building multi-floor car parks far more than enough, greenery and high rise that is not extreme just so that it doesn't dwarf the city. Plus a premium transportation system.

Doha son, can you please elaborate on Green City.

Guys, breaking news!

These twin towers are adjacent to La Cigale Hotel in the plot of land to the left of La Cigale. That road is now officially full of high-rises!

The street's going to look great (if extremely congested) when all the projects along it are done, although they really need to do something about that little building with the Bentley showroom... its the last building of the old ones on the street that hasn't been renovated.

Dont forget that there are small one-storied houses that once served restaurants there. Im sure the owners would want to turn them into buildings.

Langham to launch Doha luxury hotel

Britain’s Langham Hotels International is to open its first property in the Middle East with a 250-room Langham Place in Doha. The luxury hotel, slated to open in 2012, will include 40 residences. It will be located in the central Al Shemoukh Towers building, Arabian Business.com reported yesterday. The two-tower building has an unusual design with a number of the central floors crossing to bridge the two towers.

At least we know its the Langham! http://www.gulf-times.com/site/topics/article.asp?cu_no=2&item_no=393468&version=1&template_id=57&parent_id=56
