Quill | 28 fl | Southwark | Pre-planning

Apparently there's an exhibition on Wednesday and Thursday this week (4pm-8pm) of plans for "Quill" - a 28-storey tower to replace Capital House (the King's College London building) at the corner of St Thomas' Street and Weston Street.

http://www.london-se1.co.uk/whatson/event/7038

It is described as "an iconic piece of architecture" which will "create a new benchmark in student living as well as retail facilities and a new exciting public realm".

Interesting. Sort of like a cross between Strata and the Pinnacle.

It looks OK if a bit squat... looks like London will be getting another random-clad tower

Is this between the Shard and the Three Houses?

The architect's website refers to the bit at the top as an "organic spiralling mass". I like.

Looks cool, although the cladding will have to be top notch to make it a success.

Seems the architects have pulled the project from their website.

Anybody in the area going to go along to the exhibition. There's bound to be large images & models.
