MBA-
My view of Joka have not change. Private sector is what save us. State is inexistant. .... Roads are impraticable. It takes sometimes 2 hours from Binza ( Avenue de 18 parcelles ) to Lemba, etc... I don't want to go in details. I give him credit for keeping currency somehow stable and maintaining law and order in most part the country ..... we deserve better. Butembo- I went to Kinkole. I did not see Cite Romokin. Kimbuta is not popular at all. Thanks, Mulopwe |

Damn, that sucks. Anyways, It's the private sector that really build countries. If a country has a weak private sector it will be a nightmare for that country. That's one my prodest thing. The people know how to lookout for themselves. The country is still broke and we must use minerals to rebuilt, Interstate Hiways, Railoads, Electricity, Water, Hospitals, Schools and Water. The rest the people will do it. |

Isn't the private sector what we needed in the begining. From a highly centralized Government to now a booming private sector. Law and order that's what the constitution dictate should be the role of the new president other than the well known hotspot look at how the country is starting to move ahead. But that's why you have your team opposition at the table never thought your views were going to change about Joka
Give the man time you can vote him out in the next round of election but the opposition is losing grounds in Bas-Congo it'll be tough

Butembo21-
Totally agrreed with you. I was very impress with the private sector ...They are building new hotels , apartments and office complex everyhere in Kinshasa. If Joka can manage to stop corruptions , he will have cash needed to invest in new infrastucture. Mulopwe |

Even when you compare Congolese to other africans, we are way more business minded than many african countries. But the Infrastructure(Roads, Water, Electrity, Hospitals). is what keeps on limiting our growth . I like the fact that the governement is only focused on improving the infrastructures. we need them so bad. So Far Katnga is the one that has this Roads constrctions madness. |

Good to know that things are still moving despite the tough economic situation. Like Mulopwe said, If we could only tackle the corruption issue and practice some good management, we should be able to come ahead in this race for development but things will need to change. Butembo, Dont forget, we are just catching up on some west African countries where the private sector has been very active for years and where their migrant have invested back in their country for so many years before us. We are just starting. On the other end, we shouldn't be focusing only on natural resources to rebuild the country. We've done that under the Mobutu era and we know what the limitations are. We should diversify the economy. A natural resource based economy is very unstable and dependent too much on international market and so many other things. Agriculture and industrialization are very important and should be our top priority like in most developed countries. If you are able to assure your people has enough food, then you can focus on other aspects. Petroleum and natural gas on the east and Central Cuvette needs to be exploited in addition of the large cupper deposit in the Kasai region. Development is not possible without electricity. That should also be a priority. I have always believed that money from the Chinese contract should be used to rebuild some of the dying state companies so they are able to produce. So far our economy is very limited and only changes can make it very competitive. We have a great potential market with 65 millions people and we can definitely impose ourselves and become the first economy in central Africa but only ohard work and honesty pays. Mulopwe, cant wait to see your other pictures. Whenever you have time to post them. |
