I love european skylines. So small, and snug. America is nasty, huge never ending skylines. Un-planned zoning and grit.

Its better than the majority of skylines in the poll, only Berlin comes close.
But it is dull. Lyon looks far more exciting. And the surrounding low-rise buildings are so much nicer.

Wouldn't call Birmingham 'dull' ... it looks far more interesting then Lyons.

I'm not sure you're doing yourselves a favour, guys - most pics of the british cities here show dated skylines (they look like harare or abidjan - both great skylines, but very 70s and therefore dated). I'm not sure the hague is the best second tier skyline, but I'm pretty certain it's not birmingham, manchaster or even liverpool, even though I really like this particular skyline. maybe you should post more pics or something ....

edit: I forgot leeds ... that speaks for itself.

Wouldnt say this looks dated at all, and lyon has a nice historic skyline but its skyscraper is quite ugly! A very poor version of the one in Frankfurt IMO.

Actually the tallest skyscraper was built in 1977.... 14 years before the one in Frankfurt (1991)

It큦 beyond me how anyone could think Birmingham has an interesting quality skyline. Let큦 face it, most buildings are incredibly boring. Most small American skylines are more impressive. There are no iconic buildings, just 60s/70s dross. Give it a few years and that might change.

i have a house in France, in the country and have been to french cities paris, lyon, nice, rennes, etc and there rubbish, British cities are far more exciting then any french city. although paris is a nice city but it is far worse than london. but it is the best city in france.

Maybe.

But it has a good foundation and the base is there for a very good skyline. More so then other cities. Including Lyons.

And its not as if Birmingham is a complete shithole. Some of the new towers will add some great view points from the current victorian architecture littering the streets.
