Does Warsaw need a new landmark?

Ok let's discuss Warsaw. I like the city. But I think it needs a famous landmark. Kinda like these:

Paris

Brussels

Berlin

London

London

It should be a giant rycerz in full equestrian stance.

This building like it or not is Warsaw's main landmark:

I like it. It's got that Empire State building feel to it but the city needs something a bit more modern.

I was reading online that Warsaw will get it's own "eye" in the Praga district looking towards downtown and the historical section of the city. Only the London Eye will be bigger. Should be a great view actually. They are hoping to get it finished by the 2012 Euro Championships.

I think Warsaw should have such tall observation tower, like Berlin or Toronto. They look very nice and are fine addition to skyline. And also some telecommunication devices could be placed there instead of buildings roofs (what actually looks awful).
Maybe somewhere not exactly in downtown, but for example in Wola district so that 1) whole city center skyline would be perfectly visible 2) Wola would gain further opportunities for development.

No. Just a gate to the "Ogrod Saski" / "Saxon Garden" / "Sächsischer Garten".

Osiedle "Za zelazna brama" / Wohnsiedlung "Hinter dem Eisernen Tor" / "Behind the Iron Gate" quarter:

I think Warsaw doesn't need additional landmarks, it is good as it is. Won't suit it at all

I am not sure if this gate will ever be rebuilt but I hope they come to their senses and rebuild it eventually. Tourists would love it.

Unrealistic, because if, then at other place. Compare Warsaw's map before the WW2 and at the present. The Lubomirski palace is standing there now after it has been relocated (!!!) more than 30 years ago.

I don't think tourists would love this area (osiedle za zelazna brama), imo

I still think they should reconstruct it. Somewhere.

Despite bad for the Poles, the Palace of science and culture is really the main landmark warsaw offerts to the world. Unless, here in Spain is one of the very few images we have about Warsaw and Polland in general, and I think that it is really a very good sample of the varsovian history at all, including all the bad opinions I think it has

Nearly all of the Moscovian 7 sisters are of similar architectural quality. But the Warsaw one somehow got a more unique appearance.

This is true. Putting it in a park could help too (IMO).

Don't know much about Warsaw though, but big towers do help when it comes to skyline identification...
