I like to think that by it having such a tiny area.. it will mean it will become denser over time, rather than sprawling as bad as every other capital.

No there is 2, 01/19 and 14/32.
They don't cross and aren't parrallel, 14/32 is to the top left in the picture above. Most jet traffic uses 01/19, but 14/32 can take up to a 737 in size. To give an indication of the scale of that photo, the main runway 01/19 is 3560 metres long (3.56 km), 14/32 is 1700m. A picture of the upgrade plans

on the bottom left you can see the midland railway line, and on the bottom right you can see beaufort st, which starts as Barrack Street infront of the Swan Bell Tower and finished somewhere up in Morley
