Archeological structures?

Maybe you refferred to the remains of old Varesine train station they found during excavation... anyway they simply removed 'em

As Genius Loci already told. Those one were just the remains of the so called "varesine" train station which operated in the first half of the 20th century (after WW2 the station was moved to the present "stazione Garibaldi" nearby)

They have already been removed in the excavation process for the residential buildings. The area is still called "varesine" in honour of the train station.
