I love this tower despite the fact that what's making it taller is the long spire.

This spire is just too much. It looks like a poor attempt to get a 200m+ building in the city, but in fact it isn't. Luckily for Milan the first real 200m+ building is also under construction.

is there any use of this spire next to high faking? Design is obviously not a reason. The spire for itself is great, but from most views it does not fit to this builing in any way.

i think design is the main reason. it looks gorgeous and the whole complex without spire would not make any sense. Have u taken a look at the project? You might notice that there are three buildings, one rising above the other. The spire is the reaching of the climax.

You can have a different taste of course, but in my humble opinion you can't say it is not part of its design.

it's not something just placed on the top, if you take a look you will see that the spire "starts" from the ground...the spire is almost like a fourth tower there, it's not a hat on the top of the third tower
