Vancouver - Rest & Relaxation, Hustle & Bustle

Hey all, here are a few pics from around downtown Vancouver I took yesterday on a beautiful Thursday afternoon. I started off in the Coal Harbour neighbourhood then made my way into the West End and then into the CBD. Enjoy.

Awesome set Raggedy! The weather has been sick lately. Last weekend all I did was hit up the various beaches around downtown.

Really cool city!
It's just me or even people seem to be completely relaxed and easy-going? There's ain't no rush like in such big cities, but really tranquil atmosphere...

No, it's not just you - I also noticed that people in Vancouver and the rest of British Columbia are quite relaxed especially compared to busy southern neighbours from Seattle.

I have been four times in Vancouver so far, and every time I go there I like it even more. To me, Vancouver seems to be some kind of blend of American and European cultures and sceneries. Totally cool city!

Nice streetscapes, and some fantastic pictures of areas of Vancouver that we don't often see. Nicely done!!

What is a Japadog? Sounds cool, is it Japanese hotdog?

Thanks for all the comments everybody, they're greatly appreciated.

Japadog is a chain of hotdog street vendors that use Japanese-inspired ingredients/toppings on their hotdogs like seaweed, daikon radish, wasabi mayo, etc. They're quite tasty.

The northern edge of Metro Vancouver is just mountainous wilderness so bears are known to wander into the the northern suburbs from time to time. However the attack last year didn't just happen to someone walking down the street, it was someone wandering through trails in the wilderness.

there was a woman in coquitlam attacked by a bear in her garden

and there have been a few cases in coquitlam of bears breaking into basement suites on westwood plateau

its not common but it has increased more as the houses move deeper into the bear territory

great pics - great weekend we had

they should make a pier at english bay again that would be cool

and there has been a doggy bakerty on denman for years - thats actually the second one in that location the previous one shut down and that one opened

I've seen a number of bears on Davie Street, on many occasions.

I forgot about that woman. Luckily she wasn't "eaten". And I agree a pier would be pretty cool.
