to answer ur question, no, there is no decent urban planning in beirut or lebanon...the municipality doesn't know how to develop proper zoning. its ridiculous, u have mammoth towers coming up in quiet and semi low rise neighbourhoods...just ridiculous. land prices are so high that developers want to build as big and high as possible to maximise profit, compete like mofos for any penny on the market, dog eat dog baby...welcome to beirut

When will ABC's expansion be complete? Is any part of the mall open to the public yet?

If you are referring to the reclamed area - that's a very good question. We have a thread for it but apparently no new projects have been announced yet there (only a couple).

Le Mall Dbayeh
On a land linking the mountain to the sea, the mall is situated on Dbayeh Highway Beirut / Jounieh, on which flows more than 125.000 cars / day, on each direction. Le Mall Dbayeh has a rectangular configuration built over 8 levels in addition to business offices and residential spaces tower. The mall is formed of approximately 17 000 sqm leasable area, built up over 4 retail floors in order to welcome a diversity of retail products, Food & Beverages services and a teen and children playground. In order to respond to all tenants’ size’s requirements, shops’ sizes range from approx. 50 sqm to approx. 1000 sqm. Managing traffic inside the mall will be made easy with the availability of 800 parking spaces distributed among all 4 floors as well as the roof to ensure a proper flow throughout the whole mall. And it's already U/C.

And it was at great peril =P since it's in the vicinity of the US embassy in Lebanon, and they're usually not too happy about people on rooftops taking photos, hahaha |

Thanks Hassoun!
I am 100% the Grand Cinemas multiplex at ABC Dbayeh will be bigger (more theaters), as for the Le Mall one, it's confirmed there's a multiplex, but the bigger than Cinemacity bit is just hearsay for now, no confirmation |

There are going to be 10 cinema screens in ABC Dbayeh. It is going to be configured like a VIP kind having couches in the cinema room and services. Grand Cinemas is the operator of it.
