I'm not happy to see this... I mean come on the new stations look horrible not modern at all and the train interiors are nothing special, looking quite cheap.

I disagree if their is one thing I like that would be the stations, I know they look like toilets but they something unique about them, plus they are still under construction, when they put the direction boards, ticket machines and similar stuff it will look much better

Those stations are ten times better than the ones in New York and twenty times better than the ones in Stockholm and Paris. There's nothing wrong with the stations, they look nice in my opinion.

Btw I forgot to say the trains are dusty, maybe when they clean them they'll paint them and look better?

I laughed at the comment about toilets, because that's exactly what I was thinking of. Come on, what metro station uses those super cheap bathroom wall tiles? (those colors look nice, for a circus maybe) I know they're trying to cut corners but damn! Those horrible seats ARE as uncomfortable as they look, it's better to stand up.

Anyway, it's not like anyone expected a 1st class metro system in the same class as those you see in Japan, China, or Europe. I just compare this to what other countries in the region are doing and I think that Egypt could do better than this.

Huh? I can give lots of example where Egypt match these countries but that would be going off topic

General question: Will the Cairo Metro remain the only fill-fledged metro rail transit system in the African continent because it is highly unlikely that any metro systems will come forward in other cities in the continent?

Morocco & Algeria also have a metro line... Or maybe i'm mistaken, i can't believe we're the only african nation with a metro line...

I think Algeria have one now or it's going to open soon. We also have Alexandria metro in
Egypt.

Hello, there is a metro line which will open in Algiers on November 1, InchAllah, We have also a tram line in Algiers. Tram lines are under construction in Constantine and Oran.
In Morocco there are two tram lines recently opened in Rabat and one under construction in Casblanca.
Tunis have several tram lines since the 80s, they are buying new "citadis".
You are welcome on the Algerian forum if you want more information about metros and trams in Algiers, Oran and Constantine.
So I can confirm that now only Cairo have a "real metro" in Africa and Algiers will soon join you.
Your network is very interesting, but for me stations are ugly, maybe i'm not the only one "dommage"

We have two other lines, our current stations look nice. It's just these ones that look like bathrooms, it's not that bad though. Most of the new ones are going to look great as well, here are a few pictures of the construction:

Really? Does a city with 600,000 people really need a metro?
