The Obudu Ranch International Mountain Race was initiated by the ebullient and visionary Former Governor of Cross River State, His Excellency, Mr. Donald Duke.

It was conceived as one of the vehicles to drive world attention to one of the loveliest and most wonderful places in the world, the Obudu Cattle Ranch.

The race itself is endorsed by both the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF), and World Mountain Running Association.

The prize Money of $50,000. is the Biggest in the World.
