soon we are reaching tunnel San Rocco (Sveti Rok ), 4181 m long

view to Gran Sasso

"made in Italy": Vespa at the motorway i wonder did he pay the toll

L'Aquila

there was a several tunnels with lightening turned off. i must admit is is scary. and in front of many tunnels there are warnings which say something like "max speed 50 km/h whilke lights are off", so it seems it doesn't happen rarely

nothing without shinny crashbarriers

My suggestion is to drive around such a roundabout twice and then you'll know where to go.

Scary indeed. But I haven't really experienced it yet, as the longest such tunnel wasn't more than 0.5 km-long. Thank god the Gran Sasso tunnel is lit.

^ Very tranquil landscape; so many distant destinations add to it. Are "klicks" kilometers? Where did you get it?

You could add a day between München and Ljubiana, crossing Austria, entering Italy from Brenner Pass, visiting maybe Verone or Venice and the going to Slovenia again through Triest.

Sorry, but Cape Tainaron is located at latitude 36 degrees, 27 minutes north, whereas the Punta de Tarifa is located on exactly latitude 36 degrees north. That's a difference of about 50 kms thus putting even a large portion of the Costa del Sol south of Cape Tainaron (Tarifa is on the Costa de la Luz).

people have started to come to this thread and suggesting "visit this, visit that" and those are mostly their hometowns. i think that is not neccessary here, especially suggesting some less interesting places and presenting them as "must see" (i don't want to name those places because of possible insulting)

Well, I've suggested Venice and I think is actually worth a visit.

Agreed. Madrid isn't worth visiting.
