 Soon Khartoum would be connected with Cairo and Addis Ababa. This should contribute greatly to the economy of all these cities. |

Map of the roads built:   Atbara-Merowe road section Length:262 km Cost: 90 millions dollar Contractor: MAM for contruction-Sudanese Hejlig-Sudanese Zadna-Sudanese Dar-Sudanese Progress: Completed 2008-Work begin 2006   Northern road- Khartoum-El multakah-Diba- Length:300 km Cost: 40 millions dollar Contractor: Sudanese Zadna and Heglig. Progress: Work begin in 2005-Finished in August 2007 Note: This road pass through Baidoa desert and directly link Khartoum to Northern states. Some of the section have been rehabilitated, other have been destroyed and rebuilt.
