We have a Wartburg with the same engine, from 1991, too! But only with ~140k km.

If I had enough money, I'd buy one of these:
-Alfa Mito [155 HP] (waiting for GTA version )
- Audi S3 [265 HP]
- Ford Focus RS [305 HP]
- Renault Clio RS [198 HP]
- VW Scirocco [200 HP]
I like small but powerful cars, but these are rather expensive.

How much BKV Season Ticket do you have to give for a reasonable car? I was so worked up over the CRYING about BKV prices, that I looked it up:

1996 Suzuki Swift, looks OK, since it is from a dealer
http://www.hasznaltauto.hu/2698120_suzuki_swift_1996
195.000 HUF - about 2 years of BKV Season Tickets

gets better

1989 Golf I, also from a dealer
http://www.hasznaltauto.hu/3004919_volkswagen_golf_1989
99.000 HUF - about 11 months of BKV Season Tickets

I'm reasonalby certain that if circumstances force you (like CRYING about BKV prices), you can get a ride for 49 k HUF that will last for at least a year (till the next MOT )

Just my fuel cost is around 40k (so like 500k per year) per month, and I drive a diesel, so these are nice cars and all, but if you consider the maintenance costs, tax, insurance, fuel etc, then it will add up to a sum which is multiple times more than BKV..

And even if the fuel wouldnt be taxed,it would still cost much more.

Lol, have you ever met a dealer?
First, I don't think it really has 126000 km. I'd say 226000 from the condition of the steering wheel. Second is that this car was damaged in the front as the repair job is not nice... 200000 Ft is a bit low for such a car in good condition.

This poor Golf has already seen better days, I think you'd meet a few problems while using it for a year.

I still dont own a car but im looking forward to get one. I will select from 3 type.

1. VW Polo 2002
2. VW New Beetle
3. VW Golf (4,5,6)

Is it really lame if a male person is driving a Beetle? All my friends say "Beetle is for girls"
For some reason i like that car, maybe coz its unique form

The new Beetle you mean? It is def for girls.. or.. We rented an apt in Hannover last year, and the owner had a YELLOW Beetle with skirts and wing in the back, and it was a guy.. hehe. Of course we had the rainbow flag in the apt and books about men love, but he was an amazingly helpful bloke, so I don't mind.

Gramercy:

I'm watching Top Gear Australia and Top Gear Russia until the real one comes.. Plus 5th Gear has just started now. Yeah I'm addicted. (btw. Top Gear Russia can be quite funny, especially if you know a bit of the Russian culture and the language)

Yeah i ment the new one and of course in some cool color like dark blue or black.
I like white and that stupid typical yellow too. What ever the color is the last thing as i will look at the condition and price tag as i will buy it from használtauto.hu

Of course new rims (stock ones suck) and optical tune stuff Anyone ever sat in one or had the chance to drive one? I only had a few km-s with a Polo and liked it

I would read a few reviews before considering buying any car. AFAIK the new Beetle was a catastrophy for VW, the car is slow, the fuel consumption is high (relatively both of course), and it didn't live up to its predecessor at all. Not only because it was overpriced from the beginning, but it didn't offer anything special for the price in its tiny niche. Btw, the car that I really loved to drive anytime I had the chance is the Micra (1992, 2003), very low weight, extremely well put together, and excellent engines. You can buy the 1.4 version which really kicks ass in good condition for around 1-1.4M HUF (reviews: http://totalcar.hu/nepitelet/?op=modell&cat_id=975).

Micra, OMG, how can anybody buy give money for that?

Beetles fuel consumption is high because it has a drag coefficient of infinity. I wouldnt buy one, but hey, every car thats running on the street started with someone walking into a showroom asking for it..

btw i dont know how much money venom is considering, but from the list of those three id definitely go for the 2002 polo with a bigger engine (1.4 petrol)

Gramercy, try a Micra (the new one is ugly and slow), especially with the 1.4 engine, and you will have a huge smile on your face, believe me. I have more fun in a Micra in the city, than in a 530d. (don't own any of these)

Hehe, if you say so. Both are fun to drive and good value for money. Clios are also quite reliable compared to other Renault models...

Zöldkártya / Green card

whats your opinion? is it really necessary to do this every year?? I mean, if its OK that I might DIE if the mechanics are wrong for 2/3/4 years between MOTs, then WHY do we have to renew this every year???

how much did it cost you the last time?
