But it's got substance. I think this topic is OK, as we don't really have a tourism / sport thread for Kosova.

We in Albania don't really think of Kosovo as a tourist destination but surely there are a few natural attractions that can build up some interest like Brezovica for example...

Prishtina Film Festival

With a very intensive work over the past months and three more months to go until the beginning of the first edition of PriFilmFest in September, PriFilmFest will bring a lot of news from the world cinema by ensuring a very dynamic week for the Kosovar lovers of the seventh art.
A lot of work has been accomplished until now, including completion of the Board of Honour of the festival led by the famous British actress, Oscar and Golden Globe winner, Ms. Vanessa Redgrave.
Other members of the Board include: Isidore Codron, producer from South Africa, producer of the Oscar winner film 'Hotel Rwanda'; Omer Kalesh, world famous painter with Albanian origin, based in France; David Gothard, director from Great Britain, a personality with a big network of contacts from the world of theatre and cinema; Isa Qosja, famous director from Kosova; Eqrem Basha, famous writer and publisher from Kosova; Agim Zatriqi, general director of RTK; Luan Mulliqi, sculptor – designer of the festival statue 'Golden Goddess’; and Shkumbin Istrefi, famous actor and producer from Kosova.
PriFilmFest by now has also the compiled list of films that have been invited to be part of the first edition, of which one part has already confirmed participation.
Amongst the countries that will present the films in the festival are: Germany, France, Turkey, Kosova, Albania, Great Britain, Afghanistan, Bosnia, United States of America, etc.
The statue of the festival is also ready. This great piece of art done with a very careful and sophisticated work by the famous artist Luan Mulliqi, reflects the symbol of Prishtina and it is called ‘Golden Goddess’. Washed in gold and carved with a modern touch, Golden Goddess of PriFilmFest will bring a special glory to the festival in September.
As for the guests of the festival, PriFilmFest will be welcoming and will be honoured with the presence of the members of the Board including Ms. Vanessa Redgrave, President of the Board. PriFilmFest is working on bringing more famous personalities from the world of cinematography, because this is very important not only for the Kosovar artistic community, but for Kosovo as a country, especially in this important phase when more recognitions of Kosovo as an independent state is expected from other countries.
The festival will start on 22 September with the glamorous opening night, and will close on 30 September with the ceremony of prizes. The detailed programme of the festival will be made available in the beginning of September.
PriFilmFest is also planning to organise various tour visits for the guests of the festival which will enable the promotion of cultural and historic heritage and landscape of Kosovo.
To date, considering a very difficult year affected financially by the global financial crisis, PriFilmFest has found support from various institutions and businesses operating in Kosovo. Sponsors and supporters of the PriFilmFest to date are: MINISTRY OF CULTURE, YOUTH AND SPORTS; PRONET; KUJTESA; KOSOVA MOTORS; FORD; UPS; KRENARE RUGOVA L.L.C.; ANARCH; RADIO TELEVISION OF KOSOVA; NATIONAL THEATRE; ISSTRA-CREATIVE FACTORY; GERMAN EMBASSY IN PRISHTINA; PANNA WATER; TECHNOMARKET; BUTTERFLY; B2 – PR & MEDIA SOLUTIONS; AMM; ALMIRI AS; etc.
PriFilmFest encourages other supporters to join and counts on the further support and positive answer from other companies in Kosovo, so the first edition of the festival is presented to its guests successfully in its full glory and glamour.
