I'm just going to go out and say that I love it. It's one of those rare buildings that is truly so bad that it is fascinating more than anything else. And it's well underway so 'tis better to embrace it for what it is. This is Spain, after all, where architectural abominations are extraordinarily rare and the reality of this building is less representative of a trend or any other popular denial of architecture, rather it seems to just be an anomaly. Sure, that cone is straight out of some second-tier Dubai development of yore and the gold glass is . . . well, it's gold. But oh well!

I love this city, I´ve been there for 10 times.
... Mountains vs. Skyscrapers, Man made structures vs. nature, it´s a world unique city... Big difference between forum Photos and personal visit.
It´s a microworld of whole mankind, nature and Earth.

Benidorm is most beautiful city in universe.

The building is not great!!! it would look a lot better with clear glass. I think Benidorm needs some good urban planning as the place seriously needs help in this department. I have stayed in Benidorm a couple of times and like the place but it is quite ugly and could do with some stylish architecture.

Some great update pics by BenidormMan.
In the spanish forum we are trying to guess how are they going to move that big steel structure to the center between both towers, as the tower cranes might not be strong enough for that.

Ths construction has slow down, there was an accident with a construction lift, and now all lifts are not allowed to be used until the research on what went wrong in that lift finishes.

They are about to join the towers! Soon they'll move the white street structure to the gap between the towers, as they do to build some bridges.

I think the building would look nice if it was a twin tower and not an arc.

Finally, today they are going to "launch" the bridge structure to join the towers, this process will last 3 days. A bridge construction company from the Basque Country, URSSA, will do it. This process will take place at 147 metres over the ground, the steel structure is 20 metres long and weights 120 tons.

From a regional newspaper:
http://www.diarioinformacion.com/ben...a/1150224.html

Quote:
