Interesting discussion, over four years. As we say here, "Horses for courses".

Not that much of a newbie, but I have a question and didn't know in what other thread to post:

Are there any recently (past 30 years) built railway bridges that feature pedestrian walkways or cyclepaths?

A new railway bridge will be built in my city of Rīga, Latvia and the citizens really want it to feature a pedestrian walkway. So I need some examples from around the world where such bridges have been built to show to the planners. I have found old examples like Barmouth bridge and Colognerailway bridge, but those were built when times were different.

AFAIK, this new bridge won't be used by freight trains. Only by commuter trains and long distance high speed trains (not high speed in that part though).

I would be very thankful for your help

The 4-track railway bridge over the river Meuse in Namur, Belgium, has been
replaced in 2013. The new bridge features a walkway and a cycle path.
Full story at http://www.wallorail.be/actu/0611/2.htm but it is in French.
Some nice pictures, but none of the footpath itself, unfortunately.

Also Jerusalem's new Chords Bridge for the Jerusalem Light Rail. It has a pedestrian ramp attached to it.

Hey, thanks!

Marc, I did find one picture with the walkway on Flickr.

I'm not sure if a light rail bridge is the best example to show, but the bridge itself is cool!

After couple of hours on Google, I did find that 2005-built ┼rsta bridge in Stockholm has walkways/cycletracks and that 2012-built Hanzelijn bridge over IJssel in NL has a cycletrack.
