NJ Golden Coast and NYC

Fairview, West New York and NJ Golden Coast 06.06.09
I took a long walk along the Hudson trying to enjoy all the new urbanity this place has to offer since very recently. I tell you one thing - it is becoming another NYC borough very quick. Also I noticed that the style of buildings and surroundings are more Florida style with mini malls and strip malls mixed with medium size apartment buildings. A lot of stores, little cafeterias, little yet luxury restaurants. People sit in the very well established park on the benches along the river edge. Heavy smog of very nice cigars and coffee is in the air. A lot of new trees are planted. Also right along the edge there is a Light Rail NJ transit with the station Port Imperial. In the same area there is a ferry to NYC. And all of this of course has a million dollar view on Midtown Manhattan.
My pictures don't do justice to this place, but try to enjoy it the way I did today.

It is only part of the Golden Coast really. The area continues south along Hudson well into Jersey City with its fast growing financial and insurance industries. all of this is well connected to Wall street so some companies are and will in the future have a deep thought: is it really worth paying so much rent in NYC while in Jersey City just across the river they can pay much less and have much more.

As much as I like these urban parts of New Jersey, I actually love living in the middle of it all, expensive Manhattan. Maybe these companies think like me. LOL.

You know...New Yorkers get the best street life that the U.S. has to offer, but Jersey City has the best view!

if you mean these two - yes it is Jersey City. Both were built quite recently. the Blue ones are actually still not finished and will become luxury apartments.

Wow, great photos, very nice looking place in its own right and those views of Manhattan are unbeatable

Looks like there's almost zero litter and graffiti in this area (unless you deliberately avoided taking photos of it ), very neat and clean looking

Honestly - I didn't see a single graffiti in the whole area there.. There are some old buildings that are waiting for being rebuilt or fixed, but there is nothing like it used to be 15 years ago when the place literally was falling apart. one interesting example is the old power station that is waiting to be redeveloped into some store or something. Since it is on a protected list - it cannot be razed, so hopefully sometime in the future it will be done.

to the left of power plant is a brand new Trump building with luxury apartments. I guess no less then 1000. 000$ each

I can't wait to visit there this summer.

Although I have to say that's a lot less people than I thought. Great pics!
