Of course London and Londrina are completely different. London is 2,000 years old, Londrina 75; there are 15 million people in London area, in Londrina, 1 million; London used to be the capital of the largest empire on Earth, while Londrina was a small city completely surrounded by a dense rainforest.

About the buildings ugliness, that's a matter of opinion. Anyhow, London gets its own (and huge) share on the "ugly buildings department".

Firstable , yes i am new here ,but "i am not a troll" , i just got curious about the Title u put in ur thread " lil London" my favorite city, if was nothing to compare u should make a lil description about u said "Tribute to the British founders" , Secondable I just gave my opinion about the picx "is not type interesting city for me", very normal, nothing to say "WOW this is great", this is a kind thread to express opinions, you need to learn accept criticism as well, the life is not "only we want to hear". maybe u are a teenage and will get time to respect opinions.

You didn't "get curious". You simply ignored the description and started a city/author-bashing, using expressions like "tell me you're joking" and "collection of ugly buildings". Here in "Cityscapes", we, in general, are looking forward to knowing cities from everywhere in the world, abandoning pre-conceived ideas, so bigot posts like yours are not welcomed.

And you didn't show up here to give your "opinion". You tried to mock the thread's title, the city, without even reading the description. So don't try to play the victim, ok?

Thank you, Christos. It's always refreshing to know there are curious people in SSC, a truly city-enthusiastic, not trapped into this hate-behaviour which took on SSC lately.

Mon Dieu!

Londrina is 75 years old! Now do you wanna compare the "old historical houses or churches" in Londrina with cities with hundreds or thousands years old, like London, Madrid, Rio de Janeiro or Guadalajara? Are you also expecting "modern building/design" in Londrina on the same level of world capitals like London or New York?

If you had seen the photos before posting, which you hadn't, you'd notice the train station of the British period, a lot of art-déco and modernist buildings on Downtown and some interesting and original designs plus thousands of old wooden-houses (something unique in Brazil), specially on the thread number II (my signature). Yes, for obvious reasons (maybe not obvious for you), Londrina is not on a par with London, but not everything is perfect there. What about that hideous rollercoaster in front of the most iconical building in the city?

The matter here is not your opinion, but the way you delivery it, with all these inopportune comments and nonsensical comparisons.

People still grow vegetables on Gleba Palhano. Probably it's owned by a stubborn Japanese, who refuses to sell the land to the incorporators:

Comparison to London???... It is the name of the city!!!

We pay tribute to english people and they compaint about that. For me, it is time to change the name of the city, to pay tribute for who actually valuate Londrina.

I'm not sure... "Parisiense" wouldn't be as good as "Londrina"...
