I'm Back!

By ohjingoh at 2012-03-31

It has been so long time since I left the forum, but papermodels were alway on my interest. However, I couldn't do any work, since last two years were the most busiest years in my life. I was the representitve for sophomore and was the head of two study groups. I also had to study hard to get a scholarship.
I became a junor following year and finaly had little room to breath. But I had to do military service in the summer(It's all Korean men's duty). After a month of training, I became public service agent, and started working in a goverment office. It took the rest of the year for me to settle down, and now I'm perfactly adapted! It's miserable thing that 18 month is left untill the discharge though. Anyway as I work in the office, not a field, and well settled down, I found out that I have some free time to enjoy my little hobby again!

I feel GREAT to be back, and to meet my old buddies and fascinating new modelers!(So sad that Rei's gone)

As you see in the picture, I made two new models. It's in the office PC and I'll upload them on Monday. For now I'm going to make buildings in Korea, especially in Seoul.

I am very sorry to say that I won't take any request, but I'll consider suggestions of other Korean buildings that you want for me to make(you may ask 'WTF? Isn't that a request?' and I would say 'even I am confussed ;;' It's much clearer in Korean).

Here's my have-done and to-do list

Drown and made(two new buildings in the picture above):
Sam-ill Building, Seoul
Kyo-bo Life Insurance HQ Building, Seoul

Done Drawing:
SK Tower, Seoul
SK Tellecom Tower, Seoul

Being drown:
Seoul N Tower, Seoul

On plan:
North East Asia Trade Tower, Incheon
Reuggyong Hotel, Peyong Yang, North Korea
Tower Palace Residance Complex, Seoul

See you soon!

Sam-il building(110m, 361ft.)

Well, It's tiny building. But it has it's honor to be the first modern skyscraper in Korea. When it was built in 1970, it was the highest buiding in the whole peninsula. I see this building every week on the way doing my part time job, and I feel happy to make this model by my own hand.

Enjoy

It's a large building, rather than high, and classic boxy shape. Still I love the color.

As you see in the picture, it has huge banner on front down, and displays different phrases in every season. The phrase up there is my favorite one which was displayed last summer.

It would be great to make your skyline much richer with these small buildings

Enjoy!

Thank you SWFC fan! I added photos of completed models.

It's a strange thing that the most hight buildings of Korea are residence towers, not office buildings. So there's not much of a 'skyscraper' in the center of the city. I see lots of big buildings, but it is hard to see high ones.

SKT is one of the three major telecom campany in here. This building is the HQ of SKT. It symbolizes the shape of folder phone. Pretty building, not really high.

Enjoy!

@ Hanzie & Russian Sam: Thank you!
@Alexenergy: Thank you for you too! And yes, Dongbu Finance Building is one of my list, but I am working on Seoul N Tower right now. After that, Tower Palace or GS Complax with ING Tower with the Gang-nam Finance center. I'm planning to make whole Tehheran Street on Yeoksam Station.
