Instruction for the Kyobo Tower roof
for this model, the roof is the most hard and triky part. So here's an instruction.
1. Cut out a hole like the photo ![]() By ohjingoh at 2012-05-28 ![]() By ohjingoh at 2012-05-28 2. If your inner part is ready, put it on the main roof part and attach it to the tower part. ![]() By ohjingoh at 2012-05-28 ![]() By ohjingoh at 2012-05-28 3. Now, all the hard part is over. If your small roof part is cut out, ![]() By ohjingoh at 2012-05-28 roll them with a pen, or something round. ![]() By ohjingoh at 2012-05-28 It becomes like this ![]() By ohjingoh at 2012-05-28 4. Now attach all the four parts to the roof, and you are done! ![]() By ohjingoh at 2012-05-28 Enjoy~! ![]() By ohjingoh at 2012-05-28

IMPORTANT!!
PLEASE DON'T PRINT OUT MY MODELS YET!!
I am terribly sorry to say all the scale of my buildings are WRONG!! I don't know why exactly. I have used Rei's 300 bar. (96 X 96DPI PNG format) It turned out all of them is about 10% smaller than what it should be. Here's the actual [.cm] for all the buildings in 1700:1. For who already made my model, please measure if it is in right scale! - KLI 63 Building: 249m (14.64cm in 1700:1) - Seoul N Tower: 236.7 (13.92cm in 1700:1) - Seoul Trade Tower: 228m (13.40cm in 1700:1) - Star Tower: 204m (12cm in 1700:1) - Seorin Building: 160.3m (9.42cm in 1700:1) - Dongbu Finance Center: 150.9m (8.87cm in 1700:1) - SKT Tower: 147.5m (8.67cm in 1700:1) - Kyobo Tower: 117m (6.88cm in 1700:1) - Sam-il Building: 110m (6.47cm in 1700:1) - Kyobo Building in Gwang Hwa Gate: 98m (5.76cm in 1700:1) - 8 Canada Square: 199.5m (11.73cm in 1700:1) - Aon Center: 261.5 (15.38cm in 1700:1) I am extreamly shocked and terriblely sorry. I will post right percentage to print in right scale ASAP if it is wrong for true. In case if I'm wrong, I divided actual hight in 17 to get the right hignt in 1700:1(yes, I am Asian but terrible at math). Is it right for the mesure?

Hello ohjingoh,
You are very considerate that you list all the height the models should be in the scale of 1700:1. Thank you so much! However, we won't know the height of the model before we make it. Right? Could you please tell us the dpi setting we should use if we want to make it 1700:1? Thank you very much! |

No, it is confirmed. As I posted on new thread [Scale Problem], they are 1700:1 only in 87dpi X 87dpi. It is not only a problem for me, but others who have been using Rei's 300m bar as a measure. We were actually making 1889:1 models.
So if you want to make 1700:1 models of mine, you should print it in 87dpi X 87dpi or in 111%. If you already have made the models of those who have used Rei's bar, it would be much help to make STR's or other modeler's 1700:1 models into 1889:1 model. I hope this be a help.

Does this mean that our models are much smaller? well not much but somewhat smaller? How big exactly is a 1700:1 scale compared to our now 1889:1 scale??? lololol

it's just minor difference: about 10%. Simple math will make it clear. If the building is 100m, it would be 5.88cm in 1700:1. [100m=10,000cm // 10,000 X 0.17=5.88] And it would be 5.29cm in 1889:1 [10,000 X 0.1889=5.29] so there isn't a major different between 1700:1 and 1889:1 models, but if you want to be accurate, just print 1889:1 models into 111% or 1700:1 models into 91%. I am currently studying for translator exam in july 2nd. After that, I will upload STR's models in 1889:1. So don't worry

So let me get this straight....our models are not in 1:1700 scale?!?!?!?! And well if so, lets keep it that way, cause if we change them its gonna affect our previous models. Like their going to be different sizes and stuff.

Need help!
![]() By ohjingoh at 2012-09-05 It turned out that STR's Cheung Kong Center was not in the right scale. Not even for the 1700:1. So I redesigned the model. And now, only cladding, roof and base is left. But as always, cladding is very tricky when designing a glass building. Among many samples, I narrowed them down to three as you see up there. I need your advice about which one is the best. Thank you
