So the new additions should push the length of the system beyond 350 kms?

This is so stupid. The only thing this will achieve is make people not want to take public transport.

The Guangzhou Metro security checking is divided into 3 grades. In normal situation, only grade 1 applies. In case of terrorist attack, grade 3 will apply.

1. Grade 1: checking randomly by security guards

2. Grade 2: checking all bags by machines

3. Grade 3: checking all bags and human body by machines

In addition to the four lines mentioned above (line 4 South, line 9, line 13 and the Knowledge City branch of line 14; the last one will be isolated from the rest of the network for a year or so), at least one infill station and up to two will open at the end of this year. The one that is sure will open is Gaozeng, on line 3 between Renhe and Jichang Nan (i.e. Airport South), otherwise line 9 wouldn't link with the rest of the network. The other is not so sure, it's Qingsheng station on line 4 between Dongchong and Huangge Qiche Cheng and adjacent to the railway station of the same name. It's already built and awaiting opening now. If it finally opens, then Guanqiao will become the sole station that has remained unopened for the longest time.

I don't understand what that says.

Is it about a QR-code in WeChat that you can use to ride the subway?

Just a riding account with your own unique code (the machine scans the code image on your phone).

So, like a personal QR-code that can be used to pass through the gates, and pay for your travel?

In and out and charge appropriately (distance, location, on/off hours etc for example).
