Fun fact: There will be a line 14 branch (a.k.a. Knowledge City line) without a mainline for a year or so . It will also be isolated from the rest of the network until both line 14 mainline and line 21 open, connecting to the Knowledge City line at both ends.

According to Xu Kunjie, director of PR Department of Guangzhou Metro Group, with the opening of four new lines by the end of the year and the continuous expansion of the metro line network, the operation of Guangzhou Subway will see significant changes: After the opening of four lines, the length of the line increased by 81.6 kilometers, reaching 390.6 kilometers.

The average daily passenger flow of the line network after the opening of the four lines is expected to increase from the current 7.6 million to over 8.2 million passengers and the highest daily passenger throughput is expected to exceed 10 million.

After the opening of the new line of eight services:


1.Compression traffic interval. After the opening of the southern extension of Line 4, the peak interval of "Huangcun ~ New" segment will be compressed from the current 3 minutes and a half to 2 minutes 53 seconds and the peak capacity will be raised by about 10%.

2.Increase mother room. On the basis of the pilot project of the mother and baby room in Guangzhou South Station, all new stations in the new line are equipped with mother-baby rooms to provide more intimate and comfortable space and necessary maternal and child supplies for passengers in need.

3. Additional self-service call center. In order to reduce waiting time for passengers handling ticket transactions, each new station will have a self-service customer service center where passengers can handle ticketing issues such as overtime and overtaking.

4,Add wide channel gates. In order to increase the efficiency of passengers carrying large luggage and strollers, Guangzhou Metro will allocate at least one wide-channel gate at each of the hub, transfer station, passenger station and new-line stations of the existing lines.

5.Full support for non-cash payments. The newly opened line ticket machine to achieve sweep code payment function, passenger tickets no longer need to find change. In addition, before the end of the network will be able to achieve full support ApplePay, financial IC card, cloud card and subway ride code barrier.

6.Optimize station guidance. The new railway station is fully equipped with an electronic navigation system. The existing railway stations will also be gradually retrofitted. These include the installation of electronic guide signs at the entrances and exits of key stations and the installation of information LCD screens in the stations of the entire railway network.

7.The introduction of multiple sharing services. Guangzhou Metro will be provided at the station to facilitate the rental of convenience umbrellas, the introduction of shared umbrellas across the network station to better meet the needs of passengers borrowing umbrellas rainy day.

8.Provide bilingual information services. In order to provide better service to passengers in different languages, the official APP of Guangzhou Metro will be launched on the English version to further enhance the information service.

Guangzhou Metro Rail system Phase III Construction Plan (2017 ~ 2023)

First, the network planning

The Metro network in Guangzhou consists of 21 lines with a total length of 973 kilometers and a total of 465 stations, including 104 transfer stations. The long-distance network consists of 23 lines with a total length of 1025 km, A total of 481 stations, of which 108 transfer stations. On the 7th line, the second-phase project starts from the south of the university to the northwest of the water station. The line length is 21.8 kilometers and there are 11 stations in 2 stations with a total investment of 16.235 billion yuan. The planned construction period is 2018-2022.

The second phase of line 13 runs from Chaoyang to Yuzhu Station with a total length of 33.6 kilometers and 23 stations with a total investment of 37.075 billion yuan and a planned construction period of 2017-2021.
Line 14 Phase II project from Guangzhou Railway Station to Jiahe Wanggang Station, with a total length of 11.6 kilometers and 7 stations with an investment of 9.494 billion yuan and a planned construction period of 2017-2021.
Line 18 project from Wanqingsha to Guangzhou East Railway Station, the line length 62.5 kilometers, set up nine stations, an investment of 460.51 billion yuan, planning and construction period of 2017 ~ 2020 years.
Line 22 project from Panyu Square to Baie Tan Station, the line length of 31.8 km, set up six stations, an investment of 25.865 billion yuan, planning and construction period of 2017-2020.


(B) the main technical standards
