It would appear less complex catenary's needed where the speed limits look to be minimal in the foreground of the top pic here.

So similar to the HK MTR. Looks good. Were the MTR acting as consultants? Even the signage and the metal used on the poster displays are identical. I'm surprised that the stations are so clean too. Great to see such clean stations in China.

For those who cannot read Chinese:
Nanting (南亭 ) and Beiting (北亭 ) Stations have been renamed as University Town South (Daxuecheng Nan, 大学城南 ) and University Town North (Daxuecheng Bei, 大学城北 ) Stations.

Did Guangzhou re-colour their subway stations?

Chinese subways look WAY BETTER than the Canadian ones.
