....?
First time i hear this theory!!Is it yours..?
Mate the only difference of Hageia Sophia after Konstantinoupolis was conquered by the Ottoman is that they built the minarets.
And of course they distroyed the interior mosaics etc and replaced them with Islamic ones.
The main building is exactly the same as it was built by Isidore of Miletus and Anthemius of Tralles in 537 A.D.
Not only the Ottomans didnt change anything about Hageia Sophia but they used it as a model for all theyr mosques thereafter with the architect Koca Mimar Sinan Ağa(a Greek Orthodox who converted to Islam http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mimar_Sinan ) sawing the way.

My friend this is a really nice thread but i think you should stick with the facts.
Fantasizing stories is no good.
Ill try to post some of my favourite Mosques as well.

If anybody is interested there is a similar thread in the Greek Forum. Its called Churches and Ecclesiastical art in the Christian Orthodox World http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=789570

For me, best islamic architectures were made by turks (mamluks of egypt, ottomans, timurids of central asia and mughal emperors of turkish origins)

Forms of Turkish architecture on Islamic monuments in history

Timurid Architecture

Seljuk architecture

Mamluke architecture

Ottoman architecture

Also monuments like Taj Mahal has Turkish work and influence too especially many domed buildings carry Turkish touch together with Persian.

Love the detail!

I usually don't like to present Iranian architecture as Islamic but here are some recent pictures
