I know it was a mistake, and stop with namecalling. What I'm trying to say is that if you don't even know about the buildings you're talking about, how the hell can you comment on them? Pretty much shows your knowledge.

Amazing feats of logic, guys!!!
The Hagia Sophia is and will remain, Byzantine in style even if it is adorned with Islamic colours, symbols, additions, etc, and even if its name is changed in form if not in substance. The mosques of the Ottoman period, built 800-1000 yrs after the Hagia Sophia, even though based in form on the Hagia Sophia, are Ottoman in style, the Turkish variation of Islamic. It's not up for disputation, argument and pontification by lesser souls such as us, it is the established and accepted protocol by art and architecture historians, professionals, academics, practioners, educators, etc., of all religious persuasions. |

![]() The Shah Jahan Mosque was built in the reign of Mughal emperor Shah Jahan. It is located in Thatta, Sindh province, Pakistan. It is included in the UNESCO World Heritage and has been to preserved since its entry. In the town of Thatta (100 km / 60 miles from Karachi) itself, there is famous Shahjahani Mosque with its beautiful architecture. This mosque was built in 1647 during the reign of Mughal King Shah Jahan, also known as the builder King. The mosque is built with red bricks with blue coloured glaze tiles probably imported from another Sindh's town of Hala. The mosque has overall 100 domes and it is world's largest mosque having such number of domes. It has been built keeping acoustics in mind. A person speaking inside one end of the dome can be heard at the other end. |

![]() The construction on the Bhong mosque located in Pakistan continued continuously from 1932 to 1982. It is said that the landlord built this mosque because of a dream he had and he believed that he will die if he ever stopped construction on the mosque. It is also said that he died within a week after construction was stopped on the mosque in 1982. Sons and grandsons of Rais Ghazi Muhammad Indhar still look after the mosque and on my last visit to mosque I saw construction work is still under way. |
