In order of great disappointments:

Switzerland: Bland and void of identity/culture

Holland: Amsterdam is crap, their weed is crap and the Dutch are simple. What a nightmare, I lost my soul in Amsterdam.

Kingston upon thames: 1 word - Surrey

Mankchester: I was born there and recently left, the weather was so atrocious last 'summer' I couldn't stand it anymore.

Now I go to Univ of Birmingham, who would of thought this is the best place in England. There are trees everywhere and the weather is a lot better than Manc. The locals are a bit odd though, it has to be said.

Well.

Bradford - The place stinks absolutely awful and is just a general shithole.
Mansfield
Wembley
Blackheath
Deptford
Greenwich
Blackheath
Bermondsey

Come to think of it, i'm never going to a Millwall - Leeds game in London again. My fucking word, driving through London made me realise Beeston isn't actually that bad. Was like stepping into some third world country the place was that bad.

Milton Keynes
Holbeck
Most of North Leeds

Andorra - Must be the most boring place i've ever come across. Took 8 hours to get there by coach and all that was there was a shopping mall, which was basically shit. Missed most of the Leeds - Liverpool match aswell. We lost that game anyway.
Portland, Maine - Largest city in Maine and there was no one there. The only place that happened to be open was a gift shop. Think i'd be on suicide watch if I spent another hour in that city.
Port Siad, Egypt - Stunk awful, and like Bradford, just a fucking shithole really.
Cairo - I've never witnessed such a huge sprawl of shit. The place also stunk disgusting. Stopped at some traffic lights and people were taking a shit in the street. The sellers were driving me nuts. The Sphinx is caged in. The museum was interesting but christ, they could do with air conditioning, nearly passed out it was so hot and humid in there.
Plymouth, Massachussets - Nothing there apart from a withered rock and a shop with some fat miserable old cretin of a woman behind the counter.

FOOTBALL fans have put the boot in to Leeds United — making them top of the league of the most HATED clubs in soccer.

Amazingly, a survey reveals the Yorkshire side, who went from the Premier League to League One in three years, are loathed even more than Manchester United and Chelsea.

Leeds isn't a journos dream we are vile, nasty, horrible cunts, we hate everybody and they hate us and thats just how we like it, we feed off it.

Then heading down to the High Force. Alternatively head south at Stanhope. Awesome country.

Welcome to the Isle of Man! PMSL!
lol yeh, i think i might contact vodaphone about that one.

I have a book on the North Pennines "England's Last Wilderness", it's a part of the world that's always attracted me yet the nearest I've been is Appleby. Sometimes I drool at the maps as it looks like you could walk 20+ miles without coming across a road. In England! Imagine that!

I'd love to do that drive. We came home a pretty amazing route too. We came across the lakes to Kendal then we skirted the Howgills to Sedburgh where i bought some books, then onto Hawes before rolling into Lancashire in-between Pen-y-Ghent and Whernside etc. The sun was setting, it was brilliant, amazing landscape.

It's incredible that you can travel about 45 minutes out of grimy old Dublin and be on another planet.

Definitely not rubbish though. More incredible and beautiful.
Lol, i dunno, I'm not sure i'd go to that place again. I'd compromise at "remarkable".

Aye those towns truly belong in this thread but i'd be lying if I said I didn't have Lowryesque affection for them though, I particularly like Maryport which again has an edge of the world feel, very forgotten indeed.

Oh and Cockermouth despite having a dubious name is lovely! We'll have some pics of that place too -

Interesting thread here - for me the #1 is:

St Petersburg, Russia. Horrible weather, still a 'sad' feeling lingering on from the soviet era in the place. Little of the way in modern happenings (unlike Mockba), the idea of tourism to the place seems to be built around going to lots of museums.

Claims to be the most western-ised city in Russia but feels more like a wannabe European city but not offering anything you can't find (better) in Europe and lacks enough Russian culture to make it interesting. Suburbs still seem like something out of the soviet era (go for a walk outside the Primoskaya metro).

Never again.
