nothing to worried about "the flower", like I said before, with a troll developer like that, everything would turn out to be a joke. They had never build anything over 120m, or never seen an outside world like the ones hidden in these square states. with the cheesy design and the cliche name, all of us in CQ saw it coming. But it's the total opposite here, Capitaland is a dream for us nerds, 8 towers will rise at the same time!

This is really needed to improve the area. Lots of Chongqing's highrises look old and drab.

Damn awesome project. I hope it doesn't get put on hold like some of Chongqing's other ones.

I hope these projects just do well without that many stops, it is really about time chongqing features a skyline with 5 supertalls in a nice visible range

That's a pretty ugly looking river when the water level is so low.

I have waited 6 years for this moment, this is without doubt my favourite project when it comes to grandiose. This is the type of land development I want to see in all Chinese cities, not just tier1/2. Go China!

Offtopic, but I just have to ask: Is it normal that the river drains entirely? It looks pretty scary.

It isn't drained. They still have a deep channel in the middle where large ships can pass. It's just about to become the Yangtze at the bend in the top of the picture. It's the longest river in China, and third longest in the world the angle is playing with you a bit.

This is Jialing Jiang not Yangtze river but they will merge at the upper left corner.
The former usually has clearer water than the later. One reason for the low water level is the 3 gorge dam/reservoir. They usually lower the water level in summer to
absorb the summer flooding.

3 Gorges is downstream so what you're saying doesn't make sense.

Most rivers fed from The Himalayas are experiencing lower flow levels than 20 or 30 years ago (climate change China- Switch from coal..).

But that apart it's quite normal for streams and rivers to completely or almost dry out out of season.

Which is a good thing because otherwise they could not contain the flow coming in the spring.

But it's not pretty. I'll give you that.

I am sorry and I don't blame you, but you are not aware of the fact, that the backwater level of the 3 gorge reservoir is right at Chongqing! In winter, when they keep the water level high, the bank is full. Also Jialing Jiang's is
only a tributary of the Yangtze, whose source is
far from the Himalayas.

I suggest you take a cruise from Chongqing in both winter and summer to see yourself, and also
do not forget to study the map a little before making any claim about geography.

Why is there JCB's in the river bed? I went to Chongqing around this time a few years ago and the river level was super high (flooding in fact), so i have no idea why it is so low this year?
