i hope it stays 390m, the 40m would make a big difference in this project for sure

yeah chongqing is so damn hilly, a building on the cost will look a lot smaller than the buildings behind it on that main skyline. so if a building is at the coast and wants to be iconic it needs to be the tallest by far but then again i wouldn't mind if finally another 400m building rises in the middle of the island either

I just want it to look awesome. It's in the perfect location where height really doesn't matter that much.

Is it just me, or does it ruin the skyline a little bit from the angle they take the pictures from?
This project takes up too much of the picture from the viewing angle at the tip of the land and you can't see the rest of the nice buildings? but then again, whats the alternative right?

The main towers are a lot more interesting than Marina Bay Sands but they are still quite boring

Absolutely incredible design, will continue to add to Chongqing's density. These towers could very well make Chongqing's skyline be the 3rd best in China behind only Hong Kong and Shanghai.

What nice buildings?

Two things I love about this city are the dense skyline and its location between two converging rivers. Beautiful. But this thing gets right in between these two. It'll block half the skyline in photos from downstream, and any towers that now have a nice view of the converging rivers will soon just get a view of the inside of this 300m+ lattice.

Marina Bay Sands kind of works because it helps encapsulate the marina as a focal point of that city. All this building does is get in the way right in the middle of one of the focal points of this city.

Also, Chongqing has relatively few wall-of-glass type buildings... and very few curved buildings... so why build a massive landmark with both those things? It just doesn't fit.

I can actually picture a shorter pingan on this plot of land. I think that would work much better...

I actually don't mind the design (much better than MBS), but not for chongqing, and certainly not for that priceless location. Very surprised by the general approval in this thread so far.
