It was scrumptious, and everyone has a bit of a hangover today!!!

We are an informal lot and enjoy the family buffet style.

I had an amazing dinner this weekend. It was the birthday of a friend so we went to her favourite restaurant. It's a bistro called Patentes et Machins (Things and Stuff) run by young chefs. The food is amazing and the atmosphere utterly unpretentious. We didn't know what to choose from the amazing and constantly changing menu so we ended up sharing everything.

Oysters

Duck tartare

Rabbit croquette with some pan-seared Foie Gras

Bison steak with blue cheese and celeriac purée.

Veal sweetbread (pancreas) in a cream sauce.

The restaurant:

David, the food looks delicious! My fave would be the sweetbreads, which I adore.
Spearhead, where is there an Applebee's? I've heard of it for years but never been.

Indeed! I would love to have also tried the duck cooked in pears, but was just too stuffed.

So a few nights back, I went to a new Asian fusion place close to my home in San Rafael, and take a look at what my uncle and I had...

The rice I had was coconut rice, by the way.

David, all the foods in your last post look so delish, especially the raw oysters.

FOD's pineapple rice also looks yummy.

Indeed. And it tasted wonderful -- and a contrast -- to the spicy Szechuan Chicken.

For real? Me too... hand me something spicy, and I'll chow down on it. And my uncle just loves to see how much sweat I release from eating spicy stuff.

I much prefer Szechuan cooking to Cantonese! I love to dip my potsticker dumplings in that hot chili oil and put some shredded ginger on top.

You're making me hungry for dimsum again... I <3 dimsum, especially if done right.

Question: what Indonesian or Singaporean dishes best suit having uduk on the side?
